Description

Its distinctive top panel features a Gain Boost switch plus controls for Volume, Gain, Treble, Bass, Tremolo Speed, and Tremolo Depth. Both the boost and tremolo are footswitchable via an optional VFS2 dual footswitch, offering you even more performance power. (Footswitch not included.) This was one of my favorite amps from Vox, despite it's low price. It has all the vintage style Vox cosmetics right, including gold string in the cabinet sides, top, and bottom. Later Vox models in the low to mid price range would drop the use of gold string. As for cons, there are a couple. First, the amp doesn’t get any louder after turning the gain up to about 75%. Anything higher continues to distort the sound, but most players felt as though the sound was too saturated at that point. While most enjoyed the overdrive and gain combo, they also pointed out that you can’t get into anything too heavy without adding a pedal. The demo below showcases a musician playing the Vox Pathfinder through a PA system. With the right condenser mic, it can handle its own. I would say is enough for light gigging and garage rehearsals. Better yet, the Pathfinder 10 is capable of managing your effect pedals easily. You can plug distortion, overdrive, fuzz, delay, chorus, reverb, or anything you want, and it will use those effects with consistency, clarity, and plenty of personalities. Channels and layout

It has the size and the weight of a launch box because it’s a small practice amp. That means you could carry it around from one place to another without too much hassle.A minor flaw that I’ve noticed is that there’s very little space beneath the handle for your hands. It can annoy you if your use case demands carrying the amp around all day. But the handle itself looks pretty durable. A guitar amplifier this small and light can sit at the top of your desk easily. That’s an important factor. I/O section On the downside, people did point out that there are limited features and a few cons to this amp. Several practice amps feature things like reverb and other effects, while the Pathfinder 10 keeps things incredibly simple. Several customers thought that the higher-end sound is the tradeoff for these features, while others didn’t need them for their playing style. That said, you can play with a pristine clean tone, or you can end up with a supersaturated sound by simply dialing up the gain knob on the clean channel. Playing on clean with a full gain sounds like the drive channel with a slight gain. Vox driven tone, so if it is your thing, you won’t be disappointed. If smooth overdrive is your thing, don’t

We give the Vox Pathfinder 10 a solid four out of five stars. It’s an excellent practice amp, though we do see some room for improvement. Here’s how we came to that conclusion. Everyone agreed that this wasn’t the loudest amp out there, but most use it for playing in a single room of the house. As a practice amp, customers think this is an excellent buy for the features and price. Some users also found the larger size and weight to be something they liked. People who used it with effect pedals such as delay and modulation were impressed by the results. It’s safe to say that the amp takes pedals well. Also, given that there is absolutely zero FX provided to embellish the sound, you might find it difficult to dial in the tones that you like. There’re other small details, like white and gold bindings on the side that captures the legendary Vox looks.

Even without those features, this amplifier remains an excellent model for the price. Its sound is incredible for a tiny ten watt, it’s loud enough for practice, and you can refine your tone to get the perfect sound. Plus, it looks absolutely gorgeous. pounds less. Like the Champ, she uses an 8" speaker to push air molecules around. The 15R is a VERY portable Lastly, the Bass and Treble knobs are flexible and effective. They can cut down a bright guitar, tame a low-end instrument, and dial anything in between. Other practice amplifiers are feature-rich, but also a bit pricier. In all honesty, you can’t find anything better at this price point. But, if you want options like a direct USB recording output, let’s climb the price ladder a bit. Then, the layout is fairly simple. It has a Gain knob, a Volume Knob, and a 2-band EQ (Trebble and Bass). There’s nothing else to it.

The VOX Pathfinder 10 is designed as a basic beginner amp so you won’t find fancy effects o r stuff like built-in looper on this one. I can recommend it to any beginner who needs a simple-to-use amp with versatile clean and crunch sound. I'd heard about how good these little practice amps were and had tried a friend's one. For a solid state 15 watt amp with an 8 inch speaker they have an almost tube like tone and a responsive feel. Plugged into an 8ohm 4x12inch speaker cab it sounds like a quality amp. I've seen people playing gigs with them - albeit miked into the desk (but you have to do that at most gigs anyway). For a 10-watt practice amp, the controls are exactly what we expect. Most models in this class feature simple EQ, gain, and overdrive features. While you can’t do a whole lot with those, they’re more than enough for practicing or learning how to play. These Pathfinders are really great little amps! A lot of people share my opinion that this may be the finest solid state amp that Vox has ever produced, especially for recording. To me it sounds better than the Vox tube amps of the same size. Users praised the vintage low-profile vibe of the amp, comparing it with the old-school Vox practice amps. Here for sale we have a Vox Pathfinder 15R V9168R Combo Amp. This amp is in Mint cosmetic condition, and works perfectly. It includes the box and manual as well. Please see pictures for exact condition! Leaving aside the aux input which can be found in some other cheap guitar amps, I think the Pathfinder offers enough for any beginner. Of course, having at least a basic delay or reverb would’ve been nice but Vox had other plans for this one. Portability and Usability
