I tend to struggle with peach forward scents which lean too powdery, for instance, I could never ever wear Tresor in my life, but possibly be able to pull Casmir off.

Edit: it’s grown on me I do like it now it’s a pleasant warm, spicy, vanilla fragrance has a middle eastern vibe to it too. It's an vintage smell indeed, masculine something blended with a dentist smell, don't feel any vanilla in it. It dries down slowly to more cinnamon and amber, though as an incense lover this sits so very far from what I associate with amber.

This is definitely not a gourmand, so don't get it if you are looking for an edible, dessert-like vanilla- this isn't it! I’m going to try this again in the winter with just a small amount layered over my favourite softer vanilla scent and see if I can tolerate it better then on my skin 🤞.

Vanilla, myrrh, amber, benzoin, peach and geranium are the most noticeable notes and project you into luxury exotic adventures, and eastern journeys. I also think this leans warmer and spicier and the lack of ylang-ylang in Casmir makes it less of a year round staple and more of a fall/winter workhorse as a result.

I would say for those who enjoy “dated” fragrances but not all your friends do, this would be safe wearing. Sadly, I can’t really comment on reformulations as I’m not entirely sure when my bottle was produced. I do love this scent though and despite it being launched in 1992, there is something timeless, elegant and comforting about this perfume. I don't know what it is with my body chemistry but this one, like other "old school Orientals" with a lot of notes, reminds me right away of a old lady's house and not in a good way. Opt for amber fragrances this season and pick this warming and aromatic women's fragrance by Chopard.
