Description

Design is always a subjective call, but we quite like the angular, curve-free look of the Omen 27i monitor, and we think that a lot of other people will as well. The device is simple to configure and easy to set up, and the majority of users are going to do just fine using the calibration settings that the display has out of the box. On the Omen 27i, you get a pixel density of ~108 PPI (pixels per inch), which translates to plenty of screen real estate with sharp details and text – and no scaling necessary.

Arsenic and its compounds were not detected using U.S. EPA test methods 3052/6010b by ICP-AES with a Method Detection Limit of 10 ppm. The proportions are modest on the HP OMEN 27i, but what expands its total depth is the awkward diamond shape or position of the stand’s base. The device needs ten inches of depth, but its probably the most unintrusive since the bottom is thin and flat. It is slightly heavier at 17 pounds than some of its competitors, but that extra weight is attributed to its full metal stand. Watching movies was also a pleasure on the Omen 27i. Some Blu-ray films might look a tad overblown, since the color gamut is too large. Most streamed material is also meant for the smaller Rec.709 color space. But this was a minor issue. HP is of course a veteran of putting together solid electronic devices, and the Omen 27i has the build quality and polish that you would expect: it's a really well made gaming monitor, and would suit those looking for something that isn't quite as flashy or as dominating (or as expensive) as a lot of its competitors. Visit our comprehensive and always up-to-date best gaming monitor buyer’s guide for more displays and information. Conclusion

Moving on, the monitor has a peak brightness of 350-nits, which is more than sufficient under normal lighting conditions. The HP Omen 27i boasts a sleek and sturdy design with a height-adjustable stand up to 130mm, tilt by -5°/20°, and VESA mount compatibility (100x10mm). The Omen 27i’s styling is all about the diamond shape; you won’t find a single curve. Edges are nicely softened, but everything comes together with straight lines and right angles. The stand is wobble-free with nary a hint of play. It offers a 5-inch height adjustment and -5/20-degree tilt. There is no swivel function, but upright’s top is ideally shaped for hanging a pair of headphones. The HP Omen 27i monitor is certified as G-SYNC Compatible by NVIDIA, so you can expect flawless VRR performance up to 165FPS.

Next, the Nano IPS panel offers vibrant colors with 98% DCI-P3 gamut – that’s equivalent to ~135% sRGB! You get vivid and lifelike colors, especially when it comes to reds and greens. There's no doubt at this price and at this size, the HP Omen 27i is one of the best gaming monitors around. For as long as we were using it, and for whatever purpose we put it to, the display shone in terms of its contrast and colours, so much so that we didn't notice the absence of HDR (though that is a point against the screen). Approximate height of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the height is calculated from the diagonal and the aspect ratio. Since there’s no noticeable difference between 8-bit and 10-bit color in most games, it’s not a particularly big issue. Price & Similar MonitorsIt offers a crisp image quality with striking colors thanks to its 1440p IPS panel, while the rapid response time, low input lag, 165Hz refresh rate, and smooth VRR performance ensure a responsive gaming experience. inch QHD screens are perfect for just about any kind of computer use thanks to its excellent pixel density. You won’t need scaling with this monitor and it will look extra crisp and detailed while playing games. The downside is you get a considerable increase in GPU requirements, so making sure you have an upper mid to top range card is crucial for smooth gaming performance. The pixel pitch shows the distance from the centers of two neighboring pixels. In displays, which have a native resolution (the TFT ones, for example), the pixel pitch depends on the resolution and the size of the screen. The supported VRR range is 48-165Hz over DisplayPort for AMD/NVIDIA cards and 48-144Hz over HDMI for AMD cards.
