Description

the book didn't really flow for me and I learnt nothing other than his bits life story which he touched on in the first book. If you are looking for an easily digestible review of self improvement, and enjoy hearing personal stories, this might be the book for you!

You’re gonna be told what you need to hear, not what you want to hear so approach it with an open mind. Good general guidlines to living life in a different manner and not following a script that makes you unhappy. From his Facebook Lives with Brian the bird in Bondi to a brief stint as a JSA member during the first Bali competition where I learned all I need to know to maintain and improve my fitness level. This book was recommended by a sober group I am a member of, probably because the author is into health and fitness, and understands the psychology of behaviour and behaviour change. If your looking for that book to help you plan your next step or looking for the push to chuck the traditional life in a follow your dreams this ones for you!

He doesn't blow smoke up your arse and tell you what you want to hear and he doesn't feed you bullshit. It was finished within a couple days and I love what he has to say as far as making a life for oneself vs making a living. My favourite parts of this book are the amazing quotes that are so perfectly put into place and the little tasks throughout the chapters. Some of the aspects in the book were interesting and actually made me look at situations in my life differently.Every reference book he cites would be far better to read than this book (I haven't read them all but I have read a good proportion).

It is particularly infuriating when a reference page is constantly mentioned in the footnotes but said page is actually on a different page number. Ebooks fulfilled through Glose cannot be printed, downloaded as PDF, or read in other digital readers (like Kindle or Nook). It gets more diabolical in the next part where he says his future wife will thank him for “getting it out of his system” … I just have no words for this drivel, it has no place in an alleged “self help” publication.

To access your ebook(s) after purchasing, you can download the free Glose app or read instantly on your browser by logging into Glose. Meditation and mental health were great chapters but the ones that hit home was mindset and motivation.

hours of listening to him that they are just regurgitated information or memes that he has seen and posted. It felt a bit self-centered a lot of the time, but I understand his point, just not something that I found particularly useful. Yet at the same time, Smith focuses a lot of providing stories about himself and relates that to how it can help you, which is neither good nor bad, but I believe it would have been better for him to more frequently have the reader in mind instead of himself. It came out at the right time for me personally and Not a Life a coach has absolutely nailed it’s timing too. This book is useful as an accessible version of the material it references for those who can’t be bothered to read the underlying sources.
