Description

Probably the real gem would be to get access to the Literary and Philosophical Society in Newcastle. If the original book was published in multiple volumes then this reprint is of only one volume, not the whole set. Machinery’s Handbook is acknowledged as an exceptionally authoritative and comprehensive, yet highly practical, and easy-to-use tool. Used books have different signs of use and might not include supplemental materials such as CDs, Dvds, Access Codes, charts or any other extra material.

Owner's homemade reference tabs inserted with now yellowed sellotape; otherwise text generally clean. Materials densities and other properties such as coefficient of friction are also included in the many charts.Having grown once again by nearly 100 pages and with thousands of revisions and essential updates since the last edition, it includes vital information on basic and crucial aspects of sophisticated manufacturing processes, along with applicable industry standards throughout. Wherever practical, metric units were added adjacent to the US customary units in the text; many formulas were presented with equivalent metric expressions, and metric examples added. Thousands of Revisions: A world-class team of technical experts, educators, editors, and illustrators has contributed to new, revised, and updated text, tables, equations, figures. All ASME and ANSI standards have been reconfirmed and revised, including the game-changing ASME Y14.

At this time, we are thrilled to announce: The new 31st Edition, along with updates of the whole Machinery’s Handbook Product Family, is available! There has been a lot of new alloys and even more confusing designations in the last 90 years and Machinery's helps sort it all out. As a reviewer I've collected early copies of Machinery's Handbook for the comparisons in this review and exchanged correspondence with the current editors.

So for practical purposes all "editions" prior to the 6th are just printings of the first edition with at the most a few corrected typos. There were other specialised threads, such as the Admiralty Fine series and the Royal Microscope Society thread, but they used the Whitworth profile.
