Just For The Summer

Description
I just have a feeling when this book comes out that people are going to HATE on Maddy, but she really was a good friend, despite how harsh she could have been. I fell in love with the story and these characters and now I’m off to re-read Part of Your World to fill the Abby sized void in my life. Trying to evade the matchmaking efforts of their grandmothers, two former childhood sweethearts pretend to get back together for the summer. The photography is actually very good in this film, and I think a lot of romantic comedies are not respected for their direction and photography, but they are often very well done and really add to the story.
Good cast, decent chemistry, looks good, it’s very much a simple and relaxed romance without being to cliche. The two meet and comfort each other amidst their problems and they fall for each other as time goes on and as they get to know each other.
Thank you to NetGalley and Forever Publishing for granting my wish in exchange for my honest review.
The chemistry between the two main characters is undeniable, and the teasing/banter will make you sweat. They don't date someone long and as soon as that relationship ends, the next person that person dates- they marry. Abby Jimenez my queen, thank you for writing such real+raw characters and a story that showcases the most vulnerable and intimate moments of two people coming together and falling madly for each other at time they both least expect it. A rich, rebellious boy spends the summer with his father who he has considered long dead and his mistress while waiting for the annulment of his father and his mother's marriage. English teacher Penelope Campbell loves her annual summer vacations visiting her Grandma Dot, despite Dot's constant attempts to set her up with every single man in town. Most of what is going on his below the surface, and I liked it, because there is no "other woman" or "other man", which is often introduced to create false conflict. Abby has this beautiful way of crafting romance with grief and heavy hearts that still brings you hope and joy.
