I would really appreciate any advice for wiring the smart thermostat to these cables or if it is true that I need an extension kit. When you are hunting for a wireless temperature control for your household, you need a heating programmer that has a track record of being reliable and simple to program.

Honeywell EvoHome have likely been out the longest, also Tado and Hive make TRV heads which link to the wall thermostat, Hive is odd one out, wall thermostat is not smart, it does not work out how long before you have a temperature change programmed it needs to start heating the room, and it does not have any ebus options, it is simply on/off, the TRV head sends the wall thermostat a 'demand for heat' which keeps thermostat on for 1/2 hour every time signal sent.
