Description

For this last point in our comparison of Nespresso machines, it’s purely an aesthetics discussion rather than anything to do with functionality. The Pixie is only able to take a larger mug by flipping up the hinged drip tray. Despite the tray being hinged for this purpose, any drips on the outside of the cup will end up on your kitchen surface; with the CitiZ, the drip tray is always available. Coffee quality

The Pixie also differs from the CitiZ in appearance. The Pixie comes in just two shades of grey and has a very modern, industrial design. The exterior is stainless steel, which makes it appear more premium. It’s important to note that the two machines feel to be the same quality, so this difference only affects the appearance and the actual price, which is cheaper than that of the CitiZ.The Pixie is also slightly less convenient to use. It has a lever that you need to close manually before each brew, and the storage tank for spent capsules only holds ten as opposed to the CitiZ’s, which holds 11. These may seem like small differences, but over time it leads to a less convenient experience. OriginalLine brewers work with Nespresso capsules, refillable capsules, as well as a whole host of third-party compatible capsules from other manufacturers.

The espresso is flavorful and aromatic, with a strong layer of crema no matter which coffee variety you use. We were impressed with the espresso quality produced by this compact Nespresso model. Extra Features Heating up in just 25 seconds, the Nespresso Citiz uses Nespresso capsules, which contain the perfect amount of freshly roasted and ground coffee for a true barista experience at home. The Pixie is nearly identical to the CitiZ, but the most significant difference is the water reservoir’s size. The Pixie’s water tank can hold 24 ounces, making it significantly smaller than that of the CitiZ. The Pixie will need to be refilled more often, but, unlike the CitiZ, it does have a low water indicator to prompt you to refill. Both machines produce the exact same quality espresso, so you’ll just need to decide which is better suited for you and your needs. Hopefully, this guide has helped you understand the differences and choose one for your home!

Although the Nespresso Pixie is the smallest machine in Nespresso’s original lineup, the CitiZ isn’t much bigger at 372 x 130 x 278mm. In particular, the footprint of the CitiZ is very similar to that of the Pixie, but the CitiZ is considerably taller. Before we compare the differences between the Nespresso Pixie and the Nespresso Citiz, it’s worth looking at how they both are similar. Nespresso Citiz and Pixie similarities Brewing system

Both the Pixie and the Citiz are made for Nespresso by Breville and DeLonghi. Functionally, they’re both the same machine. If you shop around a little, you may be able to get one manufacturer’s model for a little cheaper than the other one. It will also make a note of how much volume you extracted and will extract the same amount from a single touch of the button going forward. At first glance, they probably seem very similar to you, and they are in many ways. However, some key differences can have a significant effect on your brewing experience. Below, we’re comparing these two machines so you can decide which is a better option for you. The CitiZ is a fairly streamlined espresso maker, so it doesn’t overflow with extra features. Of course, that also means it’s easy to use. Good news for your early-morning brain! The CitiZ is made of hard plastic, so while it might look a bit cheaper, it offers four different color options. These machines look a bit more retro, which may fit your style and taste better. The Pixie is thinner at 4.4 inches, making it easier to place than the CitiZ, which is 5.5 inches wide. However, the CitiZ has a power cord that is a foot longer than the Pixie’s, so if you have few outlets in your kitchen or office, the CitiZ will make placement easier for you despite its larger size. Appearance Is this a dealbreaker? Hardly! Refilling the tank is just a minor inconvenience, but a larger water reservoir is definitely useful if you have a high vollume of people coming and making coffee.

Not all of us need the fanciest coffee machine, and if you just want something good-looking and easy to use that reliably dispenses espresso, the Nespresso CitiZ could well be for you. With its decent water capacity and clever design, including a fold-down cup stand, this is currently the best low-cost Nespresso machine available. Design and features

The compact, stylish CitiZ is a well-designed Nespresso machine, but it’s a tad pricey for a basic machine

This model conveniently offers a descaling mode, though there isn’t a dedicated cleaning button or indicator. It’s not the most intuitive process, so you’ll probably need to read through the user manual. Nespresso recommends using its brand of descaling solution and running a cycle after 300 to 1,200 cups, depending on how hard your water is.
