When I remove my regular Ethernet Adapter, and plug my modified version in, then connect a cable from the data side of the AC POE Injector to a laptop, I am hopeful to be able to bring up 100.1, but no yet. The Starlink app shows the Starlink is OFFLINE. And below that, there’s a message, Starlink is Disconnected. I can’t tell if Dishy is getting power from the POE side. Laptop is not connected to any other network or WiFi. However in the picture under “Swapped RJ45 Starlink Connector Wiring” this shows pin 3 having blue solid next to orange solid, and similarly b/w next to br/w.

The top of the pole mount is designed to accept the Starlink dish, no adapter needed. I’m not sure on the Flag Pole Buddy, I am not familiar enough with the product to say. The Starlink Pole Mount diameter is 1.88″ if that helps you determine compatibility. ReplyThe base that comes in the Starlink kit is not going to be a permanent solution for most folks. How you end up mounting your dish will depend on many factors, including obstructions, roof angle, and budget. I am wanting to mount my dish on a 30 ft tv antenna tower. Seems to move with the wind some. Will that cause any reception issues? Should I be mounting to the roof instead? Reply

Instead each wire carries a combination of signal and power. This is done through op amps or something similar so that the signal is overlaid in an isolated manner onto what is effectively a bias voltage. Are there any other network routers involved? I’m not familiar with the Apple products mentioned, but I’m assuming the AirPort can act as a network router? If so, and you are doubled NAT’ed (having two routers on the same network), that can cause issues like this. Reply My Starlink is working fine. Been online for months. I just want to eliminate the Starlink router and use my own. As you know, there’s a router bypass inside the Starlink configuration. Funny though, I can connect a mesh router/system to the Starlink via the Ethernet Adapter and the mesh router connects without a hiccup. When I do this, I can see both the Starlink WiFi SSID and the Mesh WiFi SSID.Depending on the inside diameter of your J-Mount, you might need some spacer material or a bolt to fully secure the Starlink mast. Electrical tape will work just fine. Ethernet adapters are a popular and useful accessory for Starlink users, providing a reliable connection to wired networks. However, purchasing the Starlink Ethernet adapter requires some important steps to ensure functionality and avoid counterfeit products.

watt is a little low but worth a try I suppose. Have you also watched my Youtube video? That might help.So I have tried using this POE Injector as the one you use in the article is unavailable in the UK. This device is what connects inline with the ethernet cable to provide the power that the dish needs to operate. This combined with the DC to DC converter is what makes the Starlink 12v power supply.

Yes, you can add a switch connected to the Ethernet Adapter. Any Wifi router would work at the house. You could set it up in access point/bridge mode to maintain connectivity to your entire Starlink network, or have it on it’s own DCHP and routing. Reply The Starlink Mesh Wi-Fi Router also has the necessary connection to connect the Ethernet Adapter to your mesh node, giving you a wired port wherever you need it in the house. As with adding your router, you can connect your Starlink to a third-party Wi-Fi mesh system. Steps to setting up Starlink mesh Wi-Fi The Starlink Ethernet Adapter is a simple cable adapter that plugs into the Starlink router. The cable from the dish also plugs into it. Basically, the Ethernet Adapter sits in between your router and dish. What you get by installing the adapter is a single Ethernet LAN port. The port gives devices that are plugged in access to the internet and your home network. That swapped connector from dish is then plugged into the powered port of the POE injector. The DC power source which provides 48-56 volts and at least 130 watts of power is also wired into the POE device. Hey, Noah. I plan to mount Starlink flat on top of my RV permanently. Bad idea? Signal loss? Ideas for the hardware? (Basically a water-tight box, right?) Great article! THANKS!
