You can see bitrate as sort of a multiplier factor for image quality and detail, so if a lot happen in the video you want to have a high bitrate, but say you just film a sidewalk where your car is parked, well then you can make do with a much lower bitrate. With its 8.3 megapixel CMOS sensor, DRV-A601W captures 4K video at 30fps,more then 2 times as many pixels as Wide Quad HD, making super-high resolution recording and replay possible. DRV-A700W/ DRV-A601W/ DRV-A501W include a Polarizer Filter. This reduces such things as dashboard reflection on the windscreen, which may appear in certain positions or due to weather conditions, and helps to lessen glare on sunny days, making it possible to record clear outside images. Not to obsess too much on parking mode, but on the tabletop it seems to work. When parking mode option is turned on, the camera sleeps after 5 minutes of quietude, but will wake up and record if vibration is felt. It gets out of parking mode if constant vibration is felt for 15 seconds or more, and resumes normal recording. The hardwire constant power adapter is required: CA-DR1030. Doesn't look there's any low battery protection. At this stage of my life, I probably won't use this function anyway.

So since then ( 2012 ) i have not used the G-sensor in ant camera at all, but mainly cuz i have never used parking mode either as i have CCTV from my apartment covering my car where it is parked. Ultra HD recording - there's nothing better to capture the fine details - like a number plate. The DRV-A601W has a recording resolution of 3840 x 2160 - 8.3M pixels, 4 times the Full HD resolution (2.0M: 1920 x 1080), which allows it to reproduce more obscure images such as a license plate detail. Connecting the optional rear camera (KCA-R200) makes it possible to record front and rear footage simultaneously. Do not turn off the power of the device, start the engine of the vehicle, or remove the SD card during the update. The memory card should have no broken sectors ASO, and depending on the speed of your card reader you might also be able to see if the card have the promised read / write speeds.Ultra HD recording (8.3M: 3840 x 2160) - is 4 times the resolution of Full HD (2.0M: 1920 x 1080). It clearly reproduces the part invisible in Full HD video such as license plates. * By connecting the optional rear view dash cam VW Part No: ZGB 000 052 620 (KCA-R200), it is possible to record front and rear directions simultaneously.

On my first proper 1080p dashcam the lukas LK-7500 i tried to use G-sensor while driving, but even on low it triggered all the time, so as it was possible on that camera i had to set up custom trigger values for the X - Y and Z axis. The DRV-A601W supports 4K Ultra HD recording (8.3M: 3840 x 2160), which is 4 times the resolution of Full HD (2.0M: 1920 x 1080). It clearly reproduces the part invisible in Full HD video such as license plates. * By connecting the optional rear camera (KCA-R200) it is possible to record front and rear directions simultaneously. I have yet to use the wifi smartphone app; I'm not sure it's that necessary, but I'll try it at some point. Also haven't used the PC app yet. Resolution: 1440P Front 1080P Rear ( Note that adding the rear cam limits the Front to 1080P maximum resolution) Detail is very well represented even when shooting at less than 4K. It is perfectly possible to read number plates and so on at the 2560k setting if you’re using the rear and front camera in combination, but it would make sense to switch to 4K for the best detail if you only have the front-facing camera. There's an HD video output-it looks smaller than the typical TV type, so would have to buy a cable for that With it's 3.7 megapixel CMOS sensor, the DRV-A501W captures Wide Quad HD video at 30fps, 1.8 times as many pixels as Full HD, making super-high resolution recording and replay possible. When your vehicle is parked and turned off, the Smart Parking Mode becomes active. If your vehicle is subject to a collision or other physical impacts, your dash cam powers on thanks to the built-in G-Sensor and automatically records 30 seconds of video. The hardwire kit CA-DR1030 (optional accessory) is required for permanent power. I noticed that the blue LED is constantly on. Never red...always blue. Since blue = charging, I suspect that the internal battery (actually a Bitwell Supercapacitor) is no longer holding a charge. I had this same problem with a cheap made-in-China camera that this unit replaced. It's not serviceable. This is the garbage we, as consumers, accept.

And after a few days of trail and error i also got it down to here it would only trigger 1 or 2 times on a 40 minute drive, but then i said WTH and just forgot all about using that feature. This dash cam includes a Polariser Filter. This reduces such things as dashboard reflection on the windscreen, which may appear in certain positions or due to weather conditions, and helps to lessen glare on sunny days, making it possible to record clear outside images. Footage straight from the Kenwood A601W is excellent, especially for the intended purpose required.Overall, the footage is also steady with very little jumping or jolting around, providing the camera stays securely in the holder. You might consider using the camera to make more in-depth recordings of your journeys if you’re particularly interesting in documenting them, but it seems likely a dedicated action camera would be a better performer for that job. Front & Rear Dash Camera Bundle - This bundle includes the DRV-A601W front dash cam and the KCA-R200 rear view camera. This enables 2 recordings of footage from the front and rear camera. Some cameras have a flashing LED to indicate recording but others will have a LED with a steady light when recording and flashing when not recording. The built-in 3-axis G Sensor with adjustable sensitivity detects an outside force, forcing the device to save what has just been recorded. In addition, the GPS Receiver allows your videos to add location and speed data.
