Here, “catalog spec” and “real-life” match one-to-one, as the Armbar behaves more like a dedicated folding knife. It also has enough carbon content to spark a ferro rod with moderate effort while remaining corrosion-resistant. Here, there’s little margin for error, as the hand applying the hammer blow has no protection from an errant strike. The pry bar tool handles car varnish lids with aplomb, and the bottle opener works as advertised. With a solid grip below and my thumb on the blade’s spine, I could apply significant pressure without losing edge (or tip) control. This directed, accurate force shows up in cutting as well as carving. The result from the stamped tool, finished to 1 mm, is more reliable, consistent cutting, albeit at a slightly slower speed. Fabric, threads, and, once again, lighter metals, yielded to the scissors. While questionable for heavy-duty or frequent use, lighter or occasional cutting seems well within the Armbar scissors’ capabilities.

for the money I spent, I am not happy with it. American made usually stands for exceptional quality and standards but in this case, I was underwhelmed with my new piece of kit. I received mine in good time but there was damage or a poor finish to the end of the handle again detracting from the overall standard and the blade was scratched and didn't look finished to the usual USA standards. The engraving, I shouldn't have got that it sits in the wrong position aesthetically it looks squint so it bugs me and I can't sell the knife on. I am not a big man at all but even for me getting the blade out and holding it correctly is hard - This is for a person with small hands, look at the sizes carefully when you get this.I have 6 knives two axes and a machete from Gerber - I love the LMF 2, I know now I should have gone for the Strongarm. if you are thinking of getting this look at others first and consider the size. I just got the Gerber ArmBar Cork for a mates birthday, I like Gerber just not this knife.
