Visit this spectacular promontory in Rhossili on this wonderful coastal walk on the Gower Coast. Worm's Head is shaped like a giant sea-serpent and marks the most westerly tip of Gower. It's a unique place and one of the most fascinating features of this beautiful area of Wales. You start at the car park in Oxwich and head along the coast through Oxwich Wood before continuing to Oxwich point where there are splendid coastal views. On the way you will pass the fascinating St Illtud's Church. Founded in the 6th century the church has an interesting stone font and tranquil grounds.

True adrenaline junkies can try a spot of coasteering – climb the cliffs and leap into the waves below, not for the faint hearted! Make sure you’re always accompanied by a professional though – there are a number of activity providers who would be delighted to hear from you. Broughton Bay beach is one of the most secluded west Wales beaches. The north-west Gower beaches are much more isolated and exposed to wind than their neighbours to the south. The western part of the AONB is included in the Register of Landscapes of Outstanding Historic Interest in Wales, for the rich evidence of a long sequence of land use and occupation from the prehistoric to industrial periods. This includes Iron Age forts and a surviving medieval open field system (known as the Vile, near Rhossili). Agriculture remains important to the area with tourism playing an ever-increasing role in the local economy. The peninsula has a Championship status golf course at Fairwood Park just off Fairwood Common, which twice hosted the Welsh PGA Championships in the 1990s. Meanwhile, the Gower Golf Club at Three Crosses hosts the West Wales Open, a two-day tournament on Wales' professional golf tour, the Dragon Tour. Gower is part of the Swansea travel to work area.
