Because Deven’s grief about her sister and a previous loss color her reactions, she is a believable but unreliable character. At times, I wanted to redirect her from her poor decisions, but I admired her loyalty. She was further tested because her father had passed not too long before and her mother, in assisted living, was beginning to have fewer and fewer good days due to dementia. This story of Deven and Kennedy was gripping from the very beginning. I swear, every time I thought I had things figured out another little mystery would unfold and I'd be scratching my head again. While it is never explicitly stated where they live, it seems like the series is based in North London.

Not much else is known about her personal life, and she doesn’t have any social media accounts. Robert Aramayo – Rob Hoyle Content Advisory: 26 f-words, 64 s-words, 50 d-words; one short sex scene; suicide; miscarriage, including one dream post-miscarriage that was a little gruesome] Deven receives some Earth-shatteringly bad news. Her sister Kennedy has died of an apparent drug overdose. Deven thinks she knows her little sister well enough to say that she believes she would never do drugs. If this was a suicide, why the hell would Kennedy have done this? Behind Her Lives by Briana Cole. Thanks to the author, @netgalley and @kensingtonbooks for the gifted Arc ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Some of my favorite thrillers are family thrillers, especially about sisters. This one was suspenseful and full of mystery. I really like Deven and how she dove right into the case. Amateur investigations are also a favorite of mine. There were some slow moments due to the dual-timelines, but in the end it was all worth it because it helped build the suspense.

Where is Behind Her Eyes filmed?

Because what’s behind hereyes, in this instance, is him. She is beautiful, wealthy Scottish heiress Adele, played by The Luminaries’ Eve Hewson. He is working class, Glaswegian heroin addict Rob, played by Game of Thrones’ Robert Aramayo. They meet as teenagers at rehab after the death of Adele’s parents, and realise that they share the ability for their souls to leave their bodies while they sleep and ‘travel’ to other places to spy on other people’s lives. ‘I love this place, I’d stay forever if I could’ While Devan's world is turned upside down, she also learns more about herself and that she is stronger than she realizes. Whew what a story. I can't imagine going to identify someone in a morgue. Then being the only person to see an error. Deven does not believe it is her sister.

Later, in London, Rob-as-Adele’s fixation on beauty and appearances see him dressing almost entirely in white (the colour of the rehab uniform in which he first met, and idolised, Adele) and spending his life maintaining her athletic body and magazine-spread house. Despite David's warnings, Louise can't shake her concern for Adele, who sows seeds of doubt over what happened with Rob on her family estate. There is so much more that could possibly be told in this story, but unless there is a sequel, we will just have to make up our own future for Devan and the rest. Given the recognisable parts of London the show highlights, it’s clear filming took place in the capital. Thank you NetGalley and Tantor Audio for accepting my request to audibly read and review Behind Her Lives.

Tom Bateman – David Ferguson

A single mother enters a world of twisted mind games when she begins an affair with her psychiatrist boss while secretly befriending his mysterious wife. Even though it was a psychological thriller, it was also an exploration of grief and familial bonds— what would we do to protect our family and how much can we forgive?

Behind Her Eyesis the perfect duplicity-hinting title for a series that conceals what it is until the very end. The name works both for the psychological adultery thriller that this Netflix adaptation presents as, and for the supernatural story it’s really telling. Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Books and Briana Cole herself for reaching out & giving me this ARC. This is where things get interesting. She starts to learn about a whole other life that her sister lead, and none of it is good. It was an addictive read and I felt for Devan. Life was not being kind to her and things just kept getting worse. What I enjoyed most about this title was the many serious topics that it wasn't afraid to get into, including family separation, miscarriage, seeking out a therapist for trauma, family members in prison, parent with dementia, suicide, drug use and infidelity. this book is about a woman who is told her sister is dead, but she doesn’t believe it & goes on to find her sister. The police think she’s in denial and aren’t treating it as anything other than a routine suicide, so Deven is on her own to find her sister and find out what really happened. Behind Her Eyes London location: What areas do Louise, David and Adele live in and is N1 Madison Terrace a real place?
