On a beautiful and sunny day, there was a girl sit on a bench. Her best friend who walked by saw her and she approached her to say hi If you read the water in lungs scene please tell me how you imagined it Because whatever was in my head disturbed me. There weren’t many beautiful lines, but I didn’t really care, because that wouldn’t really fit into this book. Overall, tho, this was another great read!! 🤩🤩 would recommend this book & this series if you want: Starting with the characters! ✨ for me the characters in this series are decent, but not amazing. Alosa really began to annoy me in this one- she can be so stubborn and arrogant at times which really annoyed me 🙄 and some of the decisions she made were definitely *questionable*. But she did have some good moments I guess. As much as I don't love alosa tho, I still love riden! 💗 he's so hot 😩😩 and I also feel like he had a ton of growth in this book, which was awesome 💕

If you’re sorry, that means you want forgiveness. Is that what you’re asking for? If you want forgiveness, that means you want to make things right. And if you want to make things right, that means that you don’t intend to put me in harm’s way again. So, if you are saying you’re sorry, I don’t think you understand what that entails.” I'M KIND OF UPSET with how it ended because I wanted there to be a better resolution between Alosa and Riden, but it feels like now there's drama again and ughh. I just get really frustrated when characters sabotage their own relationship I will probably continue on with the duology, mostly because I want to visit the home of the sirens. I think a young Meg would have enjoyed this a bit more. The first power is an effect of her song. "[She] can enchant men to do essentially anything, so long as it doesn’t defy the laws of nature." She can only enchant three men at a time. She is only able to influence the mind with her song. This includes the ability to alter memories, show illusions, take away pain, and create fake pain.

Vordan is going to experiment on her to learn about sirens. He wants her to demonstrate her abilities on Riden. When she doesn’t cooperate, he’s cut or stabbed. It happens multiple times. Vordan learns about her power of song, her power to read emotions, and her power as a seductress. Vordan takes notes as she works through each phase so he can learn as much as possible about sirens before he gets to the island with the treasure which they guard. I was addicted from the start. Mostly because I loved the main character and her sassy personality. The only thing I can say I liked about this book is the audiobook. The audiobook is actually excellent. This book doesn't deserve such an amazing audiobook, but yet it has one. If I weren't listening to the audiobook I doubt I would have actually ended up finishing this. It was hard as it was to actually follow through and listen to the audiobook. Reading this book physically would have been pure hell. I loved the banter between Alosa and Riden. He's yummy, nothing like a yummy pirate. His brother, Draxen was a jerk though. Days go by with him coming in often to interrogate her and her toying with him a bit. Alosa continues her search for the map each night. She knows they’re getting close to the fake location she gave Draxen. She decides to try to get something from Riden by talking about her father and his hiding places. Riden ends up admitting his father would’ve most likely kept anything of value on his person.OMG so good!!! I love this book <3 Honestly it is probably one of my favorite books this year! As I had mentioned before, I am no fan of the cover. So I ended up just reading getting the ePUB, but man I adore this book so much I might buy a hard copy despite my dislike for the cover. Which means if I’m to keep up appearances, I’ll have to escape the ship. Then get caught on purpose. Oh, the ridiculous things one has to do when one is a pirate. But Alessandra’s not the only one trying to kill the king. As attempts on his life are made, she finds herself trying to keep him alive long enough for him to make her his queen—all while struggling not to lose her heart. After all, who better for a Shadow King than a cunning, villainous queen? Not only is she a badass pirate, but the author managed to make her even more awesome by making her a half-siren feminist. There was not a single dull moment. Her father’s betrayal was hard for her to digest at first, but when it became clear that her father was only using her for his gain and care nothing for her, she faced it like a big girl and fought hard.
