He rejected her again and again because he was a big chickenshit, or because he was doing "the right thing" by holding himself to some impossible standard that no one else would.
You don’t fall for your brother’s high school sweetheart, your boss’s daughter, or your ex-wife’s best friend. I’ll start with what I liked, for the most part I liked the FMC Remi, she’s unique, funny, and brash. I enjoyed the side stories that were happening and all these great relationships that were intertwined. connect after their killer push and pull with such a sensational build and delicious slow burn, it was scorching hot and cold shower inducing. Overall, I thought the plot was interesting, Remi was a talented and successful artist but her family still thought she was struggling to make a name for herself. It's a long, complicated history punctuated by fights, friendship, family, and an attraction that strains his iron will power. There are wonderful, small-town gossipy folks, tight-knit to the core, that made the town seem like a character of its own.
It made me think that it would be a cheap summer / holiday romance and it wouldn’t be my cuppa, but that was not the case. Jewelry is a statement and it doesn't always have to be watches and rings, be unique and decorate YOUR body with individual, real-looking semi-permanent tattoos from Forever Never. Overall, I did like this one, but it’s never fun when a book that could have been epic for you just isn’t.
Remi and Brick’s attraction/ crush they had for one another wasn’t just something out of the blue, it was something that was present even back when Remi was in high school. At over 580 pages it a thick book of romance, drama and friendship, I really did enjoy it even though some of the characters names are just really silly, seriously who names their kid Remington Honeysuckle 😆 and shouts 'Holy David Bowie' when frightened. From the amazing characters to the suspense, this was exciting, entertaining, intense, and all kinds of sexy. Lucy Score truly knows how to bring a unique, vibrant, fun, and compelling story to all her books and with each book of hers that I read, I not only fall more in love with Lucy, but her characters!
The attraction didn’t fade as he got older, over the years Remi made it clear that she was interested too, but he kept rejecting her and then he married her best friend, who was the same age as her, just to be sure she got the message. From the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Things We Never Got OverYou don't fall for your brother's high school sweetheart, your boss's daughter, or your ex-wife's best friend.HATED all the cross sleeping around history, characters all still fine with one another and so on after their histories together. I loved the back and forth between them and I was filled with so much anticipation for them to get together and it was absolutely worth the wait. I mean I’m all for unique/quirky heroines, but you lose me pretty quick when it crosses into “special snowflake” territory.
