There were several long and very didactic paragraphs about (supposedly) the characters opinions on these topics.

Unexpectedly boring, very tedious story-line, un-engaging characters, corny humour… I’m a HUGE fan of this series but this book lacked the usual hallmarks of great suspense and character build-up; there’s usually a sub-plot alongside the main gripping storyline, but not this time. Often when I read crime fiction I can work out whodunit by halfway but in this story I only realised when Ryan did. This book goes for the most part to the standard no major overlap with another book from the series, but if you did not read the previous two, I do strongly suggest to have a go before going for this one, or you will know one of the murders in this one. Louise is a keen philanthropist, and is pleased to have supported numerous non-profit programmes in addition to founding several of her own, including the Lindisfarne Reading Challenge and the Lindisfarne Prize for Debut Crime Fiction.Another well paced, fun, captivating mystery for DCI Ryan and our favorite team of detectives to solve.

The banter he had with Philips was occasionally amusing but more often a bit overworked, and seem to fall flat. While they are investigating Ryan and Phillips have to deal with protesters who want to stop any chance of fracking in the area and Karen Russell who is the leader of the local Council and very much wants the fracking contracts.

She enjoys reading all manner of books, painting, travelling and spending time with family and friends.To put it mildly, after reading what seemed to be several pages of self-justification and self-congratulation, I was pretty sure that the author must self-publish. The local council are putting pressure on Ryan to solve the case but there may be ulterior motives for this. You give a wonderful description of the area and we will be visiting soon while I await the next instalment.
