Christina Aistrup Hansen was arrested in 2016 for the death of three patients at the Nykøbing Falster Hospital in Denmark. The patients were a 72-year-old man who died in 2012 and two more patients, an 86-year-old woman and a 66-year-old man, who died on the same day, February 28, 2015. In all cases, high dosages of morphine and diazepam (better known as Valium) were found in their bodies. And the night nurse working in the hospital department was always Christina Aistrup Hansen.

Hansen was held in high regard among her colleagues at the hospital, but during night shifts, she administered patients with lethal doses of diazepam and morphine — only to then help save them after their condition suddenly nose-dived. When Kurzmann eventually raised the alarm, others at the hospital came forward and said they had long held similar suspicions.

Why Does Christina Try to Kill the Patients? Does She Get Convicted?

In 2016, Kurzmann started her own investigation and uncovered Hansen’s chilling crimes. Hansen was arrested and charged with three counts of murder and one count of attempted manslaughter. Where is Christina Aistrup Hansen from The Nurse on Netflix now? Joy Behar Calls On Will Smith To "Get In The Ring" With Jada Pinkett Smith On 'The View': "He Sits There And Takes It" LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Netflix is one streaming platform that offers a wide range of content from all over the world. From global hits like 'Stranger Things' and 'Money Heist' to regional indie fare. And currently, Netflix is in an expansionary phase, acquiring distribution rights to K-dramas, and other localized content that has found a mass audience thanks to subtitles and dubbing like the recent series 'The Glory'about school bullying. Now Netflix is gearing up to release a Danish crime show called 'The Nurse'. During the next night shift, Pernille keeps an eye on the drugs stored in the storeroom so that she can find out whether they were taken unauthorized by Christina to kill patients. The nurse realizes that Christina has started to terminate patients when she comes across an opaque white liquid left in the vein catheter of a patient named Viggo Holm Petersen, who eventually dies. His death is followed by the deaths of Svend Aage Petersen and Anna Lise Poulsen, witnessed helplessly by Pernille. The breakthrough in her “investigation” happens when she notices a used syringe in the room of a patient named Maggi Margrethe Rasmussen. En voldsomt spændende, velskrevet og meget skræmmende bog om sagen som Danmark forhåbentligt aldrig glemmer.

Christina tries to kill the patients at the ER to save them from their respective deaths. She seeks admiration and attention from her colleagues and superiors, which makes her hurt patients to save them. When the patients’ lives hang by a thread after the injection of diazepam, Christina tries her best to save them by putting in a “heroic effort.” Regardless of the outcome of her effort, Christina gets appreciated for trying her best to serve the patients at the hospital by her superiors. The appreciation and attention she gains by doing the same make the hospital staff members believe she is the best nurse at the place. Image Credit: Tommy Wildner/Netflix What's truly fascinating here is the character of Christina herself - how she managed to maintain a mask of charisma and professionalism, effectively silencing any potential whistleblowers for years. It's almost like a masterclass in manipulation and deception, only the subject matter makes it far from a thrilling study. While writing the book The Nurse inspired by her true story, Kristian Corfixen interviewed Christina Aistrup Hansen in prison. She declared, “Many in here talk about one day reaching a point where you come to terms with your judgment. But I haven’t gotten there yet.” She also confirmed that she still feels a lot of anger and frustration and tried to take her own life once. Stream It Or Skip It: 'Fargo' Season 5 On FX, Where Juno Temple Is A Minnesota Housewife Running From Her Past, And Jon Hamm Is The Person Chasing Her The trial became one of the most significant cases covered by the Danish media. The nurse became famous in Denmark as the “Devil of Death” ( “dødsdjævel” in Danish, as you can see in this article). It was proven that she was the one injecting morphine and diazepam in those patients. She was sentenced to life in prison in 2016 for three murders and one attempted murder (another patient survived that day on February 28, 2015, always because of the substances injected by Christina). However, in 2017, the sentence turned to 12 years, and the charge was “attempted murder”: the reason is that it was impossible to prove that the morphine and diazepam were the direct cause of death. Kristian Corfixen has done an incredible job writing The Nurse. This is a gripping and suspenseful account of a nurse in Denmark who is suspected of deliberately killing patients. Corfixen does an excellent job of creating a sense of tension and drama, making the reader feel like they are right there alongside the investigators as they try to solve the mystery. Fast forward to 2014. Pernille Larsen (Fanny Louise Bernth) has just moved to Falster to be closer to her daughter’s father. She also just finished nursing school and is getting her first nursing job in the emergency department of a local hospital. The hospital has a bad reputation around Denmark, but she’s just happy to work in the profession and is nervous as hell.
