Description

Inviolate Sheildwall allows you to protect a single unit, and if you made that unit very large, this single CP stratagem can be game bending. This is what GW had to say about it: Right out of the gate, these aren’t front-line brawlers, and that was clear since the preview of their models. Her Auto-Tapestry of the Emperor’s Judgement is insanely strong, getting all 6 sacred rites active in a bubble once a game for a turn is extremely good. Recount the Deeds of the Saints is also a nice targetted re-roll for one unit allowing a hit, a wound, and a damage dice to be rerolled. Celestian Sacresants

As the rank and file of the Adepta Sororitas, it falls to Battle Sister squads to hold the battlefield’s vital points in the face of whatever the enemy might throw at them. Defenders of the Faith makes them incredibly tenacious when guarding an objective, with foes needing to press through a storm of boltgun fire only to find the Battle Sisters shrugging off wounds that would lay any normal human low. This ability is common to various Ministorum and Sororitas melee units, and is extremely useful on Repentia in particular, helping them do appalling damage on the charge. This ability is what makes most of the units with it good, and is overall a very powerful one. It may also explain why no other Sisters models are releasing around the same time (according to rumors). This may have been the fastest path to market for the Sisters Games Workshop could muster in time for the holidays.

Chaos Sisters of Battle

She is a paragon amongst the Sisters of Battle, armed with a fearsome blade that cuts through foes like butter. You might also recognise her as the star of the original 2nd Edition Sisters of Battle Codex cover. As for the secondaries, Purge the Enemy seems the best but it is keyword Adeptus Minitorum, so be sure to keep that in mind. Essentially each round you can get 1 point for killing a unit with a bolter, 1 point for killing a unit with a melta, and 1 point for killing a unit with a flamer. If you manage all three in a turn you’ll get a bonus point for a total of 4. Depending on the size of enemy units, you should be able to do 2 of these each round and maybe the 3rd. Make sure while it is on the table that it focuses on trying to remove the high armour targets that your other units will sill struggle with. Last but not least we have the pure army “Doctrine” style effect for the Sisters of Battle. As long as your whole army is Adepta Sororitas or Adeptus Ministorum (i.e. drawn from this book) units with the Sacred Rites ability (all SORORITAS units except mortifiers) gain a bonus.

They have a strong move, decent Strength, save, and Toughness. With only 4 wounds a pop, the damage reduction is really nice, hopefully with the 2+ save they will be able to survive some shooting. Overall, not a bad statline. As suggested by us listing it as a strength, the Adepta Sororitas have a tonne of special rules going on. We’ll break them down in this section, starting with the one that everyone got most excited about when the book released (and with good reason). While reliable shooting is cool, the most effective use of these is definitely on things that provide a straight binary success/failure, most notably on pulling off 9″ Zephyrim and Repentia charges from Deep Strike or Strategic Reserves, or firing the latter a long way across the board with a maxed out advance which they can follow up wtih a charge thanks to Holy Rage. The additional consistency with which you can deploy these two units is a big contributor to their effectiveness, and the fact that they can do this is critical for those playing against the Sororitas to bear in mind.

Subfactions

Living Saints are rare in the Imperium, but when one is named, their name rings out across the galaxy. Celestine is a winged angel of faith who fights with the power of the God-Emperor behind her. She can call down holy flame, scouring the unfaithful with a thought, or healing those who are worthy of her divine light.

A full range of Adepta Sororitas datasheets, providing tabletop rules for all the units available to the Sisters of Battle HQ: Canoness, Inferno Pistol (or Plasma Pistol), Blessed Blade, Warlord Trait: Blazing Ire, Relic: Mantle of OpheliaFor the first half of Blessing options, Divine Deliverance has a strong constant ability, essentially giving you a 50-50 shot of turning off some aura abilities, which can be very strong. However, the Miraculous portion is mediocre, allowing you to at most lower a unit’s leadership by 3. The Adepta Sororitas 10th edition rules are available in the free Index from Games Workshop. The armyis focused on short-range firepower, particularly flamer and melta weapons, plus brittle but powerful combat units. Pure of Will is more generally good, allowing the Warlord to deny an extra psychic power can come in the clutch, and adding three to the rolls is even better! That being said, if the opponent doesn’t use the Psychic phase much, this is essentially wasted.
