I enjoyed Things We Hide From the Light more than the first installment in this series. Nash and Lina are an interesting couple and Score does a wonderful job developing them. After reading two of her books, I see a trend here: the character development of her main characters is excellent. This was one of those books I didn’t want to stop listening to. It was 16 hours long and I listened to it in a day and a half! If you’re a fan of Kristen Ashley’s older books (think the CM series) this book gave off those same vibes. The story was different, but it gave me the same kind of feelings, as well as having epic secondary characters. I highly recommend this one and really hope Score gives us some more books, specifically Nash’s! Duncan Hugo, son of a local crime lord, is still on the loose after the crimes he committed in the first book. Broken men break women. It’s what Lucian believes, what he’s witnessed, and he’s not going to take that chance with Sloane. He’d rather live a life of solitude than put her in danger. But he learns the hard way that leaving her means leaving her unprotected from other threats. Coffee was this girl's ENTIRE personality for most of the book. I don't mind characters having an obsession with a food or drink, but when it's ALL they talk about, think about, or go get, it's ANNOYING.

We’d been through the wringer in the beginning, and then again when building that big family didn’t work out the way we’d planned. But we faced it the way we did everything. Together. Oh Julia, but it's fiction. Give it a rest. I have a list of romantic comedies with sunshine and grumpy characters that were written like a damn masterpiece. This one is just bad, I am sorry. heroine has the best gay best friend (1. why are the male best friends in romance always gay if they are not the love interest? 2. he is in the mafia or what are those mysterious business calls he always has to take??? 3. where is Stef’s book??!) It was the perfect mix of fun, sweet, emotional, and just a bit suspenseful.
