These horror films feature Art the Clown another terrifying clown that really does give Pennywise a run for his money. But is Terrifier 2 really that extreme, or are people just overreacting? Since we're dedicated sorts here at Digital Spy, we delved into the horror sequel to find out just how gory it is. It's also not particularly scary, although Art and his imaginary friend (it'll make sense when you see it) can be unsettling. The intensity comes from the gore, rather than any tense set pieces. Look, there's no getting away from it, Terrifier 2 is absolutely soaked in blood, gore and various body parts. For Art, overkill is just the start and pretty much every murder he commits in the sequel is the cinematic equivalent of The Simpsons"he's already dead" meme. For those unfamiliar, The 9th Circle marked the first appearance of Art the Clown (then played by Mike Giannelli). Both films are written and directed by Damien Leone. I can certainly recommend the first film but I’m yet to see the second one. While he maintains a bit of mystique regarding the character, Leone seems to confirm that he is not Art. The filmmaker offers additional insight into the father: narrative momentum may not have actually panned out as he had planned and may have in fact done little more than add some padded feeling running

The scolding that ensues from Sienna’s mother is inspired by an actual argument between Leone and his own mother. When he was younger, the budding filmmaker inadvertently awakened his mother by melting sulfur-based clay on the stove for a special effect, filling the house with foul smoke. It's both the most graphic and the most protracted kill, as the victim is scalped and flayed, while also having bones broken and salt poured into her wounds. There's no doubt it's the most objectionable and nastiest death in the movie, not least because it carries on the series' trend of saving its worst kills for its female characters.
