Behind the scenes we are quite shy and bashful, so in the past we haven't shouted about the good things we naturally do, but this is what has always motivated us, doing good things: we send zero waste to landfill and are also proud to count people with autism amongst our wonderful team. Sugar, Cocoa (37%) (Cocoa Butter*, Cocoa Mass*), Rice Powder (Rice Syrup, Rice Starch, Rice Flour), Inulin, Emulsifier (Sunflower Lecithin) With the dairy-free chocolate calendars, we wanted to see whether the chocolates have a rich chocolate flavour and a melt-in-the-mouth texture. After all, no one likes waxy calendar chocolates! Founded 20 years ago, this certified B-Corp – a company which has been independently verified by B Lab meeting high standards of social and environmental performance, transparency and accountability – has a unique business model. A company limited by guarantee registered in England and Wales (03139939) and a charity registered in England and Wales (1051681) and Scotland (SC039534).

Celebrate the holiday season with compassion by going vegan. Whatever holidays you celebrate, we have tips for making them animal-friendly: Billed as the ultimate gin and tonic calendar, I can confirm all the mixers in this calendar are gluten free. Available from Waitrose. As you start the countdown to Christmas, advent calendars can help get you in the mood to celebrate. Even if you don’t observe Christmas, they can be a great way to treat yourself during the holiday season. (Think of it as a countdown to the new year instead.) Many advent calendars contain chocolates made with cow’s milk, which is stolen from mother cows who are subjected to the dairy industry’s cruel practices. Keep mother cows and their babies together by choosing dairy-free goodies to celebrate the season. These vegan advent calendars will help you get into the Christmas spirit: Peace on Earth Vegan Advent Calendar Enjoy the countdown to Christmas this year with our oat m!lk chocolate advent calendar. Includes ethically sourced Happi oat m!lk chocolate characters hidden behind 24 doors. The calendar opens up like a book to reveal the doors inside and has a luxurious, study feel. However, the downside for me is the amount of plastic you get in the calendar because it has a recyclable plastic tray and the sweets are individually wrapped in plastic. With 24 individually wrapped sweets, that adds top to a lot of plastic!

NOMO (aka No Missing Out) upped their holiday game a few seasons ago. They still have their classic free-from advent calendar with dairy-free caramel and sea salt “milk” chocolates. But now they also have a gooey caramel advent calendar. Each window houses chocolates that are vegan and free from dairy, gluten, egg and nuts. They are typically sold at Holland & Barrett stores, some other U.K. shops, and online.

This is great vegan advent calendar for kids because the chocolate is not too dark or bitter, it’s the perfect blend of sweet and creamy. Plus, on Christmas Eve you get a big slap of chocolate to enjoy to round off the month. The calendar features four different flavours of vegan milk chocolate, so it’s the perfect choice for those who like a little variety to spice up the festive season. They do make dairy milk chocolate advent calendars, but Divine’s dark chocolate version is made without dairy. In fact, it’s Vegan Society Certified. These are available in the U.K. and U.S., and have even been spotted at World Market in the states. High-quality advent calendar with 3 different flavours of luxury truffles that are individually wrapped and dusted with vegan chocolate. Featuring a beautiful and colourful design to please children and adults alike. Truffles: Cocoa Nib Nights (Vegan truffle with Cocoa Nibs), Cocoberry Blush (A Vegan raspberry and coconut truffle), and Caramel Haze (A Vegan caramel and hazelnut truffle). One thing to note is this calendar is definitely one for those who enjoy boozy chocolates as many contain alcohol, which is good news as you won’t have to share them with the kids!If you are not coeliac or are less sensitive, there will be a few extra calendars in supermarkets with may contain warnings. Allergens Listed We use Rainforest Alliance cocoa beans which is the world’s largest scale initiative to drive more sustainable cocoa farming. Key priorities of the cocoa strategy are assurance, shared responsibility, supply chain transparency & profitability and resilience. I found some of the characters a little fiddly to build, and thought one or two could do with instructions for the less mechanically-minded builders! (No? Just me?) But overall, I found each window filled with a lot of fun and whimsy. The products themselves are simply a dream. Each one is beautifully scented with essential oils to calm your mind and body, making your whole bathroom smell like a luxury spa. There are even a few little surprises like crystals designed to promote good energy and enhance the benefits of the products. No worries, not your fault! I only found out because I happened upon a comment on one of their Facebook posts about the calendar.

What’s to love about Moo-Free is that it is a palm oil-free chocolate company. Plus all of its chocolate is dairy-free, gluten-free and vegetarian and vegan-friendly. Whilst every effort has been taken to ensure the accuracy of the product information provided, products and their ingredients may change. You are advised to always read the product label for ingredients, nutrition, dietary claims and allergens. This fun and colourful calendar feels really high-quality where it counts, whilst containing sustainable elements like a raw cardboard tray. It’s a calendar that does good while looking good! You’ll discover an assortment of chocolate flavors behind each window, and each one is vegan, organic, gluten-free, and soy-free. They’re made in Finland, but they have a U.S. online store, too.Containing six of their iconic flavours such as Eton mess and Wild Strawberry with two palm-oil-free sweets available every single day and a full-size bag on Christmas Eve, the 24 Days of Gourmet calendar is a fun option for both kids and adults alike. This UK popcorn company does use dairy, but this particular collection is dairy-free and certified vegan. It’s a giant storybook filled with festive flavors, like Vegan Salted Caramel and Vegan Toffee Apple & Cinnamon. In 2020, Moo Free developed their now much-loved dairy-free white chocolate, which they’ve now popped into an advent calendar for white chocolate fans! Again, they’re dairy free, gluten free and soya free so no one has to miss out. Have you found any other gluten free advent calendars or noticed any changes to this list since it was published?

This year we've managed to squeeze in 25 windows to make sure that you can countdown to Christmas every day with one of our award-winning, rich, dark chocolates. Where to buy: The Holland & Barrett Beauty Advent Calendar is available online and will launch in-store on 25th September.

It’s always lovely to have something different to the usual offerings for those who don’t like chocolate (a problem I can’t relate too personally!), and if that’s you then this calendar is a great option.
