I read it expecting monster p0rn, somehow though, it was an odd combination of smutty and slow burn! So I’ve not read the monster genre before, but have been into Alien Mates lately so I figured it’s a natural progression. I really liked the heroine and her trying to figure out what she wanted out of life and becoming openminded when it came to interacting with other species. I stayed up far too late reading this and now I need to read everything else this author has written. On the flip side, though, I thought the sex scenes between Rourke and Violet would be sexier considering everything else in the book.

While I could have done with a bit less (okay, well, a lot less) of the milking scenes, once we finally got to the romance aspect of the story, I found myself starting to enjoy the story. I’m starting this review before I’ve even started the book because the difference between the Audible cover, which is the one I saw when I came across this book in a recommendation thread, and the one I got with the kindle download is so striking and just plain funny to me.It’s kind of amazing how a story about a young lady who takes a job giving handjobs to minotaurs for science turns into something sweet and romantic. But for those of you willing to try Morning Glory Milking Farm, be prepared to fall in love with our human Violet and the gorgeous Minotaur Rourke. It’s not a sex service (although there are some creeper minotaurs who try and make it so – every species has them apparently).

Violet is currently drowning in debt, doing all she can to survive without moving back into her parents house. I especially appreciate the fact that the minotaur didn’t turn into the kind of alpha personality that is less alpha and mostly just a jerk. The sexual encounters were solid, the characters were interesting, and the author took some risks with a unique premise.

I’m not a huge fan of non-humanoid partners but I have also enjoyed Strange Love and Ruby Dixon, among others.

Even though Rourke had told her, he's older and learned from his previous marriage what he wants, what makes him happy, and that Violet is it. There’s open discussion about their economic disparity and Rourke does not use it as a way to control her. I found myself laughing at times at just how absurd this premise was and what I was reading on the page – you’ll need a massive suspension of disbelief to sit through it.Their sessions become a regular thing as he makes a special request for her each time he comes in and she develops a crush on him. There's no conflict, no plot, only interesting world-building, adorable characters, and wholesome, filthy romance.
