Children and young people developed a blueprint to highlight ways to share their story, and this year the Scottish Government is investing in the digital phase of EHAS. This is being taken forward by Corra in collaboration with the Independent Care Review. In Don’t Blink: What the Little Boy Nobody Expected to Live Is Teaching the World about Life, Brandon and Brittany Buell share the invaluable lessons that Jaxon — now approaching age 2 — has taught them about the inherent value of every human life, the extraordinary power of faith and the key to living each and every day to the fullest. Last summer, I was asked by two lovely young women to write their grandad’s autobiography for his 80th birthday. I enjoyed doing it so much that it made me think a bout offering the service to other people too. The aim is to delight people and help them have a living family history of memories made and kept. Savi Sharma tells the story of four individuals from different walks of life who are interwoven together intricately by fate. It wasn’t easy to break the ice, but there was a positive atmosphere as if something was cooking. Meera was brimming with excitement to hear more about his endeavors. Vivaan responded by divulging some information regarding his private life, and how he lost his mother as a young boy.

some women can steal your heart by their beauty, some can steal your mind by their intelligence and others can steal your soul by their presence. But if you meet the one who can steal your everything without doing anything, that’s the one made for you.’ He” We can only imagine the power from this wake-up call. Kabir became her trusted friend, and yet another storyteller on her list. Nonetheless, she wasn’t prepared to write that fantastic story just yet, and the search continued. Then Vivaan takes her hand into his and Meera is like “a friendly gesture”. How stupid of you Meera. The reason it’s hard to find stories in your own life is because we see our lives as one long experience, rather than a series of stories. But all of us have done or gone through something that is not only worth talking about, but also fascinating and helpful to someone else. Tell them informally to your friends to see what interests them, what they want to hear more about, and what the stories mean to them. Using this process, I generated stories about the large dog on the corner that inhibited my newspaper route, the time I made a famous comedian laugh, and a mishap at a Chinese banquet hall in Hong Kong. Once you’ve found a story to develop, expand on it with details and then weave in a takeaway or a common life theme so the audience goes away with something deeper than your personal story. Listeners will either inhabit your story with you, or it will remind them of their own story. Either way, you’ve connected! I can’t think of many things more precious than the sound of a loved one’s voice. There is nothing I wouldn’t give to be able to hear my beloved son and mother tell the stories or their life, the things they loved, the things that brought them joy, the big and the small things”.

Everyone has a story to tell”: A review of life stories in “Everyone has a story to tell”: A review of life stories in

It was not very well written, the story in itself was cheesy, and I don't mean that simple love story cheesiness, no! Like a huuuuge load. The most compelling stories are often the ones that elicit the strongest emotions, positive or negative. Which means you may try to tell a story about the most difficult time in your life. Since Jaxon was born with microcephaly, a birth defect where the baby’s head is smaller than normal, my wife Brittany and I have become much more sensitive to people around us. We see young couples and wonder if they have children at home who struggle with health or emotional problems. We see middle-aged people and wonder if they’ve been through a situation similar to ours. We see older people and wonder if they’ve stood beside the hospital bed of a grandchild. People often use the excuse that their lives are uneventful and nobody would be interested in what they have done. But I promise you that if you will keep your journals and records, they will indeed be a source of great inspiration to your families, to your children, your grandchildren, and others, on through the generations. Each of us is important to those who are near and dear to us—and as our posterity read of our life’s experiences, they, too, will come to know and love us. And in that glorious day when our families are together in the eternities, we will already be acquainted.” (Spencer W. Kimball)

Have you ever feared for your life?

Sharing this kind of story is never easy. But there are ways you can prepare in advance so you’re as ready as you can be when you’re facing an audience. Ask yourself how you feel about your role in the story. To say that suicide is selfish is not only wrong—it’s ironically and sadly incredibly self-protective. It’s as if you’re raising your hand and saying, “Although I didn’t know you and I clearly do not understand clinical depression and suicide, I’m going to continue judging people who die from it even if it causes unimaginable pain and trauma to the survivors and further stigmatizes mental illness because it makes me feel better than, safer, and more comfortable.” When we share our stories, what it does is, it opens up our hearts for other people to share their stories. And it gives us the sense that we are not alone on this journey.” (Janine Shepherd) When I was a little one my grandma use to tell me stories of her childhood. It was like a living story book in vivid colour. The people in the pictures came to life and it was if I could hear their words…then she died and the book became just fragments in my memory. Every day, I woke up; I tried to find reasons to live. Every night, when I slept, I tried to find reasons to not die. Every moment, I tried to find reasons to hope, dream and love.”
