Hour: If you are a competitive runner – or want to include sprints as part of a HIIT program, then you can choose a faster treadmill. This speed is not available in the budget / basic level models. Sure, I could add all the ‘corporate slogans’ about commitment to excellence… I’d prefer to say that the quality speaks for itself, and once you add real service, well – how many brands get both of these right??! A lot of budget models are small and shaky. They feel like a strong breeze will make them collapse – hardly inspiring to anyone wanting to pound away for mile after mile.

Another good reason to go for this machine is that you get a powered incline which is controlled by the computer, rather than some manual affair where you have to set it manually. This machine does a brilliant job with its powered incline and adds a lot to how tough your workout can be. Summary: The Sportstech F65 Professional treadmill is German engineered, huge and very powerful. Even the highest spec commercial alternatives struggle to get 25km / hr top speeds and a 60cm wide running surface. Add to this the versatile electronics and long warranty, and you have a home running machine that can compete with the best of the brands out there.With 20 programs to choose from, you’ll never be bored when it comes to exercise options. 20 Running Programs This is a big piece of equipment, roughly half again as large as many of the smaller-priced versions. Measuring 168cm long by 72cm wide and 133cm tall at the top of the console, this gives you a 127cm x 42cm running area – plenty of room for a safe and comfortable run. One thing we love about JLL is how well built their gear is. You could almost call it overbuilt, as you’re getting a treadmill that’s about as good as something that might cost you twice as much. For me this folding treadmill bridges the budget and commercial models – it is much bigger than the budget treadmills and has a great spec for the price. The screen that I thought looked a bit dated is actually pretty decent. It is a 5 inch LCD monitor that displays all the usual metrics you would want, including time, speed, distance, heart-rate and calories burned. You can use it to choose between an impressive 20 running programmes, of which the first 3 can be fully customised.

This wasn’t an issue for me personally, but when buying a treadmill, always consider what the features are that you must have. Pros JLL seem to have looked for the sweet spot between quality and price, priced it accordingly, then added a little extra quality on top for good measure. The cushioned tread is incredibly comfortable and easy on the joints. The 16-point system covers the important impact areas, meaning that you can keep any gait going without fear for your knees or ankles. If you’ve ever used a cheap, trashy treadmill that doesn’t have a cushioning system, you’ll know the difference this can make.
