The Little Life Arc 2 Travel Cot is their lightest and most compact travel cot, weighing in at just 2. There are Velcro fastening strips on both the bottom of the mattress and the cot base to make sure the mattress stays firmly attached and doesn’t move around. The downside is that it doesn’t really double up as a play pen, which some travel cots do, and you have to be aware that the cot itself may be usable outdoors but you’d would need a waterproof cover and a bit of bravery to do this!

I used a narrow sheepskin on top of the mattress for her to sleep on, and wrapped a sheet and blanket under the sheepskin. The top panel zips undone and folds away so little fingers can’t play with it, and the front panel also zips right down. The foam mattress is fixed down with three strips of heavy duty Velcro and this stayed in place even with my energetic toddler and wriggling 13-month-old Hannah playing in it.

Although the Arc 2 is very light, it could be less bulky if the mattress was made as an inflatable mattress.

Due to the tent poles sticking out on each corner the Arc 2 takes up a little more space than a traditional travel cot (85cm wide by 133cm length), but we’ve so far not had any problems squeezing it into any hotel room. If your child is not particularly tall, I would say that the Arc 2 is suitable from birth to 3-4 years old. With regards to access into the tent for adults, the top opening was highly useful as a back saver and helped us to get our little one out in a very narrow area beside our bed.

This travel cot can be easily put up in a moment’s notice using the colour coded poles which form the cots sturdy Arc shaped design. In terms of general use, this cot could be used for short trips away or for longer holidays abroad but not used in place of a regular newborn bed. The Arc 2 is ideal outside for naps during the day or as a secure play pen and during the night can be used inside the awning or campervan.Had our daughter in it from 5-months, she's now 2-and-a-bit and is happy in it, take it camping, on holiday and to friends when crashing over.
