Description

Probiotics - (Enterococcus faecium) reduces pathogenic bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract thereby lessening the risk of ascending urinary tract infections of faecal origin. CystoPro contains an active ingredient derived from cranberries. This active ingredient is a class of antioxidants called Proanthocyanidins (PACs). CystoPro also contains probiotics, prebiotics and N-acetyl D-glucosamine. The EU-registered strain Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663/ NCIMB 10415) 4b1707 du pathogenic bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract and the faeces, thereby limiting bacterial colonisation of the perineum. A Urinary Tract Infection (UTI), can make it uncomfortable for a dog to pass urine. The most common cause for straightforward cystitis in dogs is a bacterial infection. However, similar signs may be seen with urinary stones and crystals, bladder inflammation, incontinence due to excessive water consumption or a weak bladder, kidney disease, cancer, stress, spinal cord disease, prostate disease or an abnormality in the urinary tract from birth.

The capsules can be given whole or opened, and the palatable contents sprinkled onto food. IngredientsThe EU-registered strain Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663/ NCIMB 10415) 4b1707 acts to reduce pathogenic bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract and the faeces thereby limiting bacterial colonisation of the perineum. Safety– the micro-organism chosen must be non-pathogenic and non-toxic. Within the EU all probiotics must be registered for use in an individual animal species. For example, Enterococcus faecium (NCIMB 10415) E1707 is registered for use in dogs. Allow your dog plenty of opportunities to go to the toilet regularly. Regular voiding of the bladder helps to prevent inflammation. Composition: N-acetyl D-glucosamine, Mannan-oligosaccharide, Gelatin Capsule, Cranberry ( Vaccinium macrocarpon ), Magnesium stearate.

We have had the biggest break of UTI since being on these caps...I hope these will put an end to UTI.

Some breeds of dog are prone to certain types of bladder stones, including; Dalmations, Bichon Frise and Miniature Schnauzers. Proanthocyanidins (Type A PACs):Proanthocyanidins are naturally occurring powerful antioxidants extracted from the North American cranberry. Type A PACs have an anti-adhesion affect, this means they help to reduce the ability of certain bacteria to attach to the bladder lining.

Competition for nutrients– within the gut beneficial and pathogenic micro-organisms will be utilising the same types of nutrients. This results in a general competition between bacteria for these nutrients. When a probiotic is administered there is an overall reduction in nutrients available for pathogenic bacteria and consequently this minimises the levels of pathogenic micro-organisms.

Urinary tract supplements can help prevent inflammation and improve resilience to infection. Talk to your veterinary surgeon about options available, they include; Cystopro, Cystaid. My Vet put me onto this after my dog became antibiotic resistant through too many Uti's, best thing since as it has been a real health changer for my pug. Feeding any prescription diets as advised by your veterinary surgeon to help prevent further bouts of stones/crystals. CystoPro contains Proanthocyanidinsnc, a naturally occurring powerful antioxidant extracted from the North American cranberry. Type A PACs have an anti-adhesion effect, which means they help re-attach to the bladder lining.

The EU-registered strain Enterococcus faecium (DSM 10663/ NCIMB 10415) 4b1707acts to reduce pathogenic bacteria within the gastrointestinal tract and the faeces thereby limiting bacterial colonisation of the perineum.Created from purified yeast cell walls, Mannan-oligosaccharide (MOS), binds to receptors on bacterial fimbriae which prevents attachment to epithelial cells. MOS is commonly used as a prebiotic to support intestinal microflora. N-acetyl D-glucosamine - reinforces the structure of the Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) layer that lines and protects the sensitive bladder urothelium. A strong, resilient GAG layer prevents bacteria from adhering to the urothelial cells. Proanthocyanidins are naturally occurring powerful antioxidants extracted from the North American cranberry. Type A PACs have been shown to inhibit the ability of E.coli to attach to the urothelium, thereby preventing bacterial adherence, colonisation and infection
