Commentary: Richard Curtis (director), Hugh Grant, Bill Nighy and Thomas Sangster, Deleted Scenes, Documentaries: 'The Storytellers'. A few ended too abruptly or with little fan fare, but the bulk of the plots are wrapped up in such a way that it's impossible not to smile. The cast is exceptional and is chock-a-block with stars such as Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Keira Knightley and Rowan Atkinson. With no fewer than eight couples vying for our attention, Love Actually is like the London Marathon of romantic comedies, and everybody wins.

There is a great scene in the film which you have probably already seen in an internet meme and that's Hugh Grant (who plays the British Prime Minister in the film) dancing to 'Jump (For My Love)' by the Pointer Sisters. I have grown to love this film, each time I see it, I seem to learn something more about love, (I know completely daft but that is how I feel)so much so that when my recording digital box deleted the film to make more space I was annoyed and quite upset. I wasn't interested in the story of every couple, and with so many to choose from, I doubt it's even possible. All star cast including Hugh Grant, Bill Nighy, Colin Firth, Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Rowan Atkinson and Alan Rickman. This is not a film student's commentary, even though Curtis supplies several behind-the-scenes tidbits along the way. The film cuts to people in various situations - working in a Advertising / 'Creative' Agency, a TV film company, friends at a wedding, an author writing a book in his French holiday home, 10 Downing Street complete with Prime Minister Hugh Grant, etc.

Additionally, a pair of porn film stand-ins bond on the set, an artist fantasises about his friend's wife; and perhaps funniest of all, an aging rock star (Bill Nighy) tries for his comeback with a Christmas novelty song.

That he pulls it off so entertainingly is undeniably impressive; that he does it so shamelessly suggests that his writing fares better with other, less ingratiating directors.

At the age of 21, Tim is told an incredible family secret by his father: all the men in his family have the ability to relive their past. Von diesen Rückblenden mal abgesehen ist die neue Gechichte in sich aber durchaus stimmig und vielschichtig. With Curtis' comedic credentials and the star wattage of pros like Grant, Neeson and Thompson, LOVE, ACTUALLY is a laugh-packed affair, with more than a few tears to be shed along the way, and a startling amount of bawdy raunchiness. The commentary features director Richard Curtis and actors Hugh Grant, Bill Nighy, and Thomas Sangster. I think it's sad that people who loved the Phantom were unwilling to accept the sequel - they missed a good show. I was a bit surprised to find out that the DVD for Love Actually boasts a screen-specific commentary.
