your issue is the obvious very high boost spike, and the ENGINES inability to deal with the flow before sufficient engine rpm is on board. I'm surprised its surging as its not really a massive spike and my experience of the 3" tips tends to reduce the early torque in favour of giving better power. As we are aiming for a bit more in our st2 the extra could potentially create some surge but we'd need to review the car to confirm what's happening. The reason why the turbo surges is because now the tip can suck more air into the turbo but the engine cant cope with it and tries to push it back through the turbo.
