About this deal

We could compare this pictorial device to the quintessential Claudeian motif of trees screening a vista: eighteenth-century enthusiasm for this aspect of Claude’s campagna imagery might also have been informed by the idea that trees acted as a cleansing filter, thereby counteracting the threat of poisoned air, as well as in pictorial terms modulating the intensity of light effects. In 1990, he brought together a team and completed a first model of the vehicle a few years later that became a showcase at the 1994 edition of the Montreal Auto Show at the Olympic Stadium.

Such scrutiny focused closely on topography and the less tangible matter of air, factors which were assumed to have shaped the physical constitution and appearance of local people. This unusual configuration of urban and rural spaces gave to Rome an identity that fed into perceptions of the city in a way which was just as distinctive as the specific effects produced by individual ruins and monuments. More general scientific investigation was also undertaken in the form of natural history, and the cataloguing of flora and fauna. Yet so strong was the area’s negative image that the journal L’Artiste in 1844 ignored the evidence of agriculture and claimed it ‘breathes all the melancholy of the Roman countryside’ [ respire toute la mélancolie de la campagne romaine], cited in Marie-Madeleine Aubrun, Théodore Caruelle d’Aligny 1798–1871.For the philosopher Wilhelm von Humboldt, writing to his compatriot Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, it was indeed impossible to compare Rome and its surroundings with any other place; the incomparable physical presence of the city – its ‘loveliness of forms’, the ‘grandeur and simplicity of its figures, the richness of the vegetation … the definition of outlines in the translucent medium, and the beauty of the colours’ – engendered a sense of ‘pure aesthetic pleasure without a trace of desire’. Campagna V13R - a two-seat, three-wheeled cyclecar utilizing a 122 hp [4] Harley-Davidson Revolution engine.

shows an interlocking view of buildings, cultivation, and open countryside, in which these different types of structure and terrain are elided together. Campagna is famous for its traditional summer event ‘A Chiena’ ( Italian: La Piena), which takes place annually every weekend between July and August. By virtue of this literary evidence, later commentators were able to carry on an extended debate on the changing condition of the ancient and modern Roman landscape. The painter Ippolito Caffi’s 1847 views of the campagna from a balloon seem to work in the same way, celebrating the aesthetic pleasures to be had by rising above the glowing but sinister evening mists. We bring a breadth of knowledge based on experience in the international fine art market, conservation, and design. However, Claude has subtly manipulated the view; for instance the familiar dome of St Peter's, the most prominent of various outcrops on the horizon, is actually located much further to the left.

Since 2013, Campagna has a long-term strategic agreement with the BMW Group that allows them to use the BMW 1,649 cc in-line 6 cylinder motorcycle engine in the T-Rex. He hand-built a first model of the T-Rex in 1988, the Concept 3, and then founded his own company, Campagna Moto Sport Inc.During the Second World War, Campagna was a temporary home for many Jews thanks to Giovanni Palatucci and his uncle Giuseppe Maria Palatucci.
