This concertina sketch pad comes in a hard carrying case to keep it's contents and designs safe inside. Also, since the pages flow from one page to another the paintings offer mix and it is difficult to prevent the paint from one page going on to the following page. Small enough to slip into a handbag, I can make quick sketches with fineliners, so I end up with a book of my own ‘postcards’ as unique mementoes of places visited.

However, if I have an idea, I might choose colours that fit my theme or decide on dark and light areas throughout the book. You will then alternate the pieces so the folds face either towards you, or away from you, as seen in the second image. It makes me think that layering alcohol-based and watercolour markers may lead to the same effect but I haven't tried it yet.
