The difference between the two is whether you want to own Battle Royale in 4K or Blu-ray, as Battle Royale II: Requiem is Blu-ray only regardless of what version you choose. It’s far more likely that it’s a psychosomatic perception, and that you’ll have to watch the two films side by side on UHD to actually see a difference.
