However, if you feel uncomfortable while reading a particular story—especially if it is a story that closely resembles your own—it may be a good idea to pause your reading and process your feelings with a therapist or trusted friend. The boundaries in her role changed without warning and she had a whole ton of work dumped on her without warning. Petra Velzeboer overcame a traumatic childhood to become a counsellor for vulnerable young people before campaigning for improved mental health services. Petra Velzeboer leads the way and shines a light through the maze of tools and set constructs defined by employers and medical professionals. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Through inspiring stories, Scriptural principles, and her classic practical, life-application approach, Joyce powerfully demonstrates that God isn’t done with you yet. Petra's vision for the new world of work focuses on dynamic leadership, success in a hybrid world, and creating space for skill development to enhance forward momentum. National Book Award winner and national treasure Jacqueline Woodson teams up with two-time Pura Belpré Award recipient Rafael López to deliver an empowering message to any child who has ever felt too different. From Selected Poems II (1976-1986) by Margaret Atwood, published by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 1987. This book is raw and authentic and in turn prompts questions that make you want to dig deeper into what well-being actually means and how you can make real changes both in work and at home that will lead to a more balanced, happy and fulfilled life. Sometimes when you leave an organisation, that’s when you realise what’s been going on and see what you were really up against. Like Woodson’s memoir Brown Girl Dreaming, this story places great value on literacy, reading, and imagination. I have no hesitation in recommending this book to anyone who is interested in their own mental health, the mental health of their team, or anyone who works with other people. Woodson’s gentle, lilting story and López’s artistry create a stirring portrait of the courage it takes to be oneself. The author is clearly passionate about mental health and this book is filled with both positivity and hope.

Yes I can adopt these methods myself and be a role model, but if no-one above me is modelling them too it's difficult, and can bring on guilt and shame that you are not acting as others do. Indeed, a lot of talk of mental health in organisations seems to be about managing crisis, harm prevention, etc. Of course, it's a completely different context in an organisation, but there are things that cannot be spoken. Her passion is focused on helping others and her approach comes from a place of lived experience - an experience that she’s shares so transparently and unabashedly.
