About this deal

In many respects, the Panasonic deserves to be judged on its own merits, but it is important to consider alternatives. To change the level you press the lower of the 2 buttons on the flosser. This is unsurprisingly labelled ‘level’. Truth be told, taking care of your teeth can often be a chore. Many have turned to electric toothbrushes with supercharged motors to remove the – admittedly low – effort of the twice-daily routine, but in our eyes, the worst aspect of maintaining a healthy mouth is flossing. Grinding a bit of string between your gums is never an easy nor enjoyable task, but we've found one way to inject a tonne of fun into the process while also cranking up the efficiency, and that's with a water flosser. Yes, you might be rolling your eyes at having suffered through the same advice from your dentist as they espouse the values of flossing, but using a powered tool for the job is your gateway to a healthier, happier, cleaning set of gnashers. The most useful extra is the soft, drawstring pouch case. Basic but functional, it allows you to keep items together and gives a bit of protection when on the go. It is worth knowing that this is water resistant and can be used in the shower if you would like to.

However, a 2020 study found that an electric toothbrush has around 11 times the environmental impact of a manual toothbrush. The equivalent is likely to be true of a water flosser compared to string floss or interdental brushes. I know many companies like to underestimate a little but this is perhaps a bit much and doing themselves a disservice. Using a water flosser isn’t as straightforward as using an electric toothbrush and it can take a little getting used to. You start by filling the reservoir, before putting the tip of the flosser in your mouth with the nozzle pointing at your gum line. Only at this point should you switch it on and select the mode you want to use.To my knowledge, Pansonic has not submitted the EW1511 for any independent clinical research or produced any clinical results to prove its effectiveness. Once it’s on, you need to run the nozzle slowly across the gum line, making sure you get between the teeth, starting with the lower teeth then moving to the upper teeth. Keep your mouth closed as much as possible, but let the excess water run out of your mouth into the sink as the jet won’t do anything in a mouth full of water.

But, at the time of review, I can’t recommend this as must buy on the primary basis of replacement nozzle availability and cost. Here at Electric Teeth we like to price a product over a 3 year period to give a bit of a benchmark to the ownership costs. ish) seconds is about the time it takes a proficient user to clean in between the teeth and along the gumline effectively. Finally, the controls are really important. Using a water flosser can be a messy business, particularly if you’ve never used one before. Having easy-to-find and intuitive controls can help you avoid a nasty squirt in the face or across the bathroom mirror. How to use a water flosser

ULTRASONIC TECHNOLOGY: This water flosser features an Ultrasonic nozzle to carefully remove food debris, plaque and stubborn bacteria even in interdental spaces in a powerful but gentle way. Also, reaches areas toothbrush & dental floss might miss. Compare this to traditional string floss that works out at about 2-3 pence per day and the EW1511 is considerably more expensive. WATER PRESSURE SETTINGS: This electric flosser for teeth has five water pressure settings to give you full control of your cleaning experience, and remembers your setting ready for the next time you use it. It is largest at the bottom and a fraction smaller at the top, but the upper third of the unit thins out to allow for the hand to better fit to and hold the unit. I really like the removable base to the water tank and the option of wall mounting the charger, even if it is a bit chunky.Disappointingly, the Panasonic does not come with a pouch case to protect the unit or keep the nozzles and flosser together. You could though stow the nozzles inside the water tank when not in use. COMPACT AND PORTABLE: Ideal for travel, this stylish oral irrigator is lightweight and compact, making it easy for oral care on the go.

The narrative on flossing and how regularly you ought to be doing it has been conflicting, but pretty much any dentist worth their jar of lollipops agrees that some form of daily interdental brushing or flossing is essential. Especially if you want to avoid any future dental work because of gum disease, gingivitis and sensitive teeth. I have to say I have been pleased with the results. My testing is by no means scientific, but I don’t think it is unfair to say the results have been comparable to the competing products. For my fairly normal set of teeth, I haven’t noticed the flosser struggling or succeeding any better than others. The most important thing to remember when using a water flosser is to always place the classic jet tip inside your mouth before turning it on to avoid any splash-related incidents in the bathroom. The EW1511 is a cordless water flosser, meaning inside it has a rechargeable battery and doesn’t need to be connected to a power outlet to function. Also included is a plastic travel case to hold the aforementioned tips. Not essential, but certainly nice to have. I’ve been very impressed with Advanced and how well it has removed debris and plaque from between the teeth. On many occasions, I can feel the difference and the evidence in the sink confirms it’s doing a good job. The build quality and performance are better than I anticipated. Perhaps I set my expectations a little low. Panasonic is not typically the first brand you think of when it comes to oral health care.
