Deeming the shorts' shade of red a powerful and heroic hue, Michael Berk worked with Pantone, the colour standards company, to make “Baywatch Red” a proprietary shade. In 2019 this dream became a reality when Pantone declared "Baywatch Red" a special Pantone colour shade. Shauni has a pregnancy scare during a camping trip with Eddie, Hobie, and Mitch and tells Eddie about it, but it turns out she is not pregnant. Shauni gets taken hostage by the two men who killed Mitch's uncle, but Eddie, Mitch, Hobie, and C.J. manage to rescue her. Eddie and Shauni get married and leave Baywatch to start their new life in Australia. Gregory J. Bonann, one of the creators of the series and lifeguard himself, enlisted TYR, a competitive swimwear company, for help with the design with the same intention of making it comfortable for the male actors. Unlike the red swimsuit, the TYR logo isn't seen on the shorts. Shauni, along with Matt Brody and Kekoa Tanaka, are the only three lifeguards to have both their jobs and relationships with fellow lifeguard disapproved by their fathers.Shauni reveals to Eddie she wants to have three kids someday after Eddie starts caring for an abandoned baby discovered under his tower. She looked to Mitch as a father figure and loved Eddie dearly. Jill's death affected her deeply but she chose to continue on and use what Jill taught her to carry on to be the lifeguard she had trained her to be. After being under experienced senior lifeguard Jill Riley's wing, Shauni was an expert in rescue and life saving techniques, handling the rescue vehicles and a strong swimmer. She was even seen helping with the Junior Lifeguards training programme. Kekoa's father didn't approve of both his daughter's job as lifeguard and her relationship with fellow lifeguard J.D. Darius. Worse, he filed a lawsuit against Baywatch Hawaii and Kekoa's boss Sean Monroe and used it as a way to come between Kekoa and J.D.

Though Shauni makes no physical appearance, she is mentioned by Eddie who says they have now separated. Reasons why this happened have never been revealed.
