Description

If any part of this Agreement is found by a court of competent jurisdiction or other competent authority to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable then such part shall be severed from the remainder of this Agreement which will continue to be valid and enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by law. Korg furthermore disclaims all responsibilities for direct, derivative, collateral or consequential damages caused by the use of or the inability of using the Third Party Software (including but not limited to damage of data, lost commercial profit, interruption of work, lost commercial information), regardless of the degree of damages, and even if Korg was aware of the possibility of such damages in advance. In the event that Third Party Software is supplied, you agree to be bound by and to observe any terms and conditions relating to the use of such Third Party Software. This warranty shall however only apply to the latest version of the Licensed Program (provided that Korg has reasonably made such version available to you) and shall not apply to any previous version or versions of the Licensed Program.

A very decent upgrade with genuinely pro features, that cements its position in the top handful of mini keyboard controllers available. In the event that there is any physical defect in the disk (storage device, etc.) on which the Licensed Program is supplied, Korg will exchange the defective disk with a non-defective disk of the same model at no charge, provided that you have notified Korg of the existence of such defect within 28 days from the date you have received the disk, and provided that Korg shall never be held liable to replace the disk or data in the event that the defect is attributed to accident, abuse, misuse or other such causes outside of Korg’s control. The Korg MS20 rides again... again! The latest version takes the form of an expanded desktop module with accompanying sequencer.

MIDI-wise, the SQ1 is a close match for the MS20M because its spec is unspectacular. It can send notes on any consecutive pair of MIDI channels and responds to MIDI start and stop commands received over USB, but that’s about it. According to my Mac there are two USB MIDI ports: ‘SQ1 MIDI Out’ and ‘SQ1 CTRL’. The latter is intended to control the sequencer’s transport from your DAW, but there’s a bug in the current version in which the SQ1 stops sending notes as soon as it’s remotely started. Conclusions The license created by this agreement is personal to you and you may not assign or otherwise transfer your rights or obligations under this agreement without the prior written consent of Korg. Admittedly it’d take up rather a lot of value hp but it could be worth it, as the hub of a system. That said, it’s small and portable, so gigging with it may never be a concern.

For melodic sequencing duties and flexible hardware control, this is one of the best devices on the market.

I can’t think of an option that isn’t catered for here. That just about covers it for getting up and running, so how about the fun stuff? Well, you choose a pattern, of which there are 64 user-saveable (same for songs, or projects, as Korg calls them), set a pattern length, rotation …and get sequencing! Korg, in no event, will be liable for the direct, derivative, collateral or consequential damage caused by the use of or the inability of using the Licensed Program (including but not limited to damage of data, lost commercial profit, interruption of work, lost commercial information), regardless of the degree of damages, and even if Korg was aware of the possibility of such damages or the possibility of a claim for damage from a third party in advance. Korg reserves the right to make modifications to the Licensed Program and to the support services set out in clause 7 of this agreement (referred to in this agreement as “the Services”) without prior notification to you. The 2 x 8 step buttons can be used in the usual way to turn notes on/off, but you can also use the MODE button to switch their function, opening up powerful possibilities such as letting you "perform" the sequence itself, as on a volca unit.

Tech Specs

It allows you to perform the sequence in a linear fashion, a zig-zag pattern, a ping-ping pattern, or a random pattern. You can select which step to begin from, and you can turn steps on and off and even use glide.

Since these two methods differ completely in both the range of change and the type of change produced by change in the CV voltage, you can't play correct pitches if the synthesizer's CV IN uses a different standard than the SQ-1's CV OUT setting. If the SQ-1's CV RANGE is set to 1V, 2V, or 5V, it uses the V/Oct standard. If the CV RANGE is set to 8V, it uses the Hz/V standard. Change the SQ-1's CV RANGE setting as described above in step 2) of “How do I connect the SQ-1 for use with the MS-20M” or step 2) of “How do I connect the SQ-1 for use with the MS-20 mini.” The SQ-1 is a compact step sequencer with 2 x 8 steps. It's wide range of connectionsoffers not only connections tothe MS-20 synthesizers but a variety of other synths whether your bag isVintage analog or the latest compact synths. You can also switch between a variety of synthesizer modes and use the step buttons to create weird and wonderful riffs, experiencing and exploring the full power of your chosen synths. You hereby agree to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the aforementioned territory, without regards to conflicts of law provisions.

It is so beloved, I named mine after my late, great little terrier "Ole Rusty." I would have never bestowed such an honored name on a piece of gear unless that gear was worthy. I love this method, which is reminiscent of using something like a Novation launchpad. If it’s lit you know you will be in key. There are all the usual suspects when it comes to scale choice but I couldn’t find a way to save my own custom scales. A small omission maybe but one that I hope can be fixed in a firmware update. Active Step" lets you skip steps mid-way through a sequence, and "Step Jump" lets you instantly play just the step that you press, producing irregular rhythms or effects that are reminiscent of short loops. "Slide" produces an effect in which steps are connected smoothly; using this to control a synth bass is an easy way for anyone to generate an acid sound.
