https://www.studyprn.com/p/gastroenterology (online question bank) – please note, whilst it is great to have a free question bank and most of the questions seem relevant, it is worth mentioning that the formatting of questions doesn’t seem true to the actual ESEGH style (i.e. sometimes very long stems to the questions with some irrelevant information, occasional grammatical errors etc). Therefore useful to practice testing knowledge, but not as a reflection of the exam itself Gastroenterology is a rapidly developing medical specialty with a large body of knowledge, much of which is recent, and many and varied sources of national and international guidelines giving advice on ideal management. The training curriculum has recently been completely revised after significant consultation. It is also a very demanding service specialty with large outpatient clinics, busy endoscopy services, multidisciplinary teams, subspecialty development and for most a continued commitment to acute general medical receiving. Daily work requires good communication skills, diagnostic acumen, manual dexterity, ability to assess complex images and the need to work as part of a team. Assessment has to reflect this complex interaction of skills. Gastroenterology is a visual specialty that requires the regular interpretation of endoscopic, radiologic and histological images in relation to the individual patient's problem. All ESEs are computer-based and are administered by Pearson VUE at a test centre in the UK or internationally.
