Description

This comes in handy when traveling so that the flash can’t be accidentally turned on and drain the battery. Both units feature a handle for positioning and adjusting while shooting. These handles are also removable, which is ideal if you need to save space while traveling. The Godox AD400 Pro TTL Witstro Flash Head is a versatile flash unit that is designed for outdoor and location use in mind. This model offers 400Ws with 9 steps of power output which ranges from 1/1 to 1/256. It's powered 2600mAh lithium-Ion battery that offers up to 390 full-powered flashes on a single charge with a recycle time of just 0.9 seconds - Perfect for location shoots where you don't want to have to worry about battery consumption. There's also a 30W LED modelling lamp that will help you effectively manipulate your light. The unit has an integrated 2.4 GHz wireless X system with a range of 100m. This system is compatible with Godox X triggers but also fully supports Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm & Olympus TTL systems.

The AD400Pro TTL Studio Flash can be controlled with full TTL, HSS, and remote manual power control with the GODOX XPRO, X1, and X2 (PIXAPRO ST-IV, ST-III or ST-III+) transmitters (To get the most out of your AD400PRO400 we recommend the XPro Trigger). The AD400Pro also features a built-in Godox X-reciever that gives you remote control up to 100m and High-Speed Sync is avaiable at up to 1/8000s. Normally when I shoot TTL, it’s when I’m forced to bring my camera along to family events. I’ll set my camera to aperture priority with -2EV compensation to underexpose the ambient and pop an SB-900 in the hotshoe bounced off the ceiling set to +2EV to bring the subject up where I want it.Overall, the AD400Pro and AD600Pro are both amazing portable flashes that perform very well in both indoor and outdoor settings. The AD400Pro has been constructed from high-quality plastic and features a large, easy to read LCD screen. Both the tripod mount and light modifier bayonet are constructed from metal for extra durability and the flash can even be used with a 120cm octagonal softbox.

The AD400Profeatures a USB Type-C port, which enables you to update the firmware as new technologies become available. On all three Nikon, Sony and Pentax cameras, it fired every single time, and the TTL exposures were pretty close to where we’d have put the exposure if we were doing it manually. Within many industries, the premium for lighter and more compact attributes can be extremely high, and the Godox pro level series of strobes is incredibly reasonable, and is simply not charging what the photographic industry has commonly become accustomed to. It’s a robust system that works with the most common modifier mounts available for an absolutely reasonable cost, all while offering features that enable faster and more accurate creation. I would surmise that the AD400 Pro will become a hit as it works into the kits of hobbyists and professionals alike that are looking to save some cost and weight while affording the benefits of a strobe that is equal to some of the best lighting companies in the world. You can find the wireless triggers here– they are brand specific for Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Pentax, Olympus and Panasonic.

Product Specification

The colour appeared consistent throughout the power levels – at least, certainly more consistent than the AD200 and AD360II – and the recycle times were very short, even when shooting high speed sync.

Built-In Godox 2.4G Wireless X System with Great Compatibility: AD400Pro is compatible with Canon E-TTL II, Nikon i-TTL autoflash, Sony, Fujifilm, Olympus and Panasonic TTL autoflash system with support for 1/8000s high-speed sync. Once you’ve attached the bulb, you’ve got a bulb-shaped hole that you can’t really do anything with (unless you want to carry a spare), but at least you can fit a couple of XPro triggers in the slot that held the Bowens adapter. No 1/3 stop power adjustment option on the strobe itself (but you can still do 1/3 stop increments from the trigger) Shot on the Pentax K1 and SMC M 35-70mm f4 lens at 1/1000 (the first three) and 1/320 (far right) at f/4, ISO200 – Lex’s photos. If the Godox application doesn't recognize the device, consider trying a different cable. Some USB cables are solely for charging and do not have the connections for data transfer. And, of course, your cable might just be bad.
