Description

Clase Azul Reposado is a symbol of the tradition and culture of Mexico. The quality of this tequila has been recognized with Gold Medals from the Beverage Tasting Institute in Chicago, and the San Francisco World Spirits Competition. An aroma of agave syrup, vanilla, candied orange peel, and American oak. Light notes of cinnamon and banana. Tequila Clase Azul Reposado unites seven basic elements that make it an exclusive product: Organic agaves that have matured for upto 8 years, slow cooking of the agave hearts in traditional ovens, fermentation using the company's secret combination of yeasts, careful distillation to ensure the highest quality possible, followed by delicate filtration and finally ageing in top-quality fine oak barrels. It’s also a brand that has far more to show off about than just its liquid gold. Around 80% of its employees in Mexico are women who grew up in poverty or without education. Working with Clase Azul gave them an opportunity for food, childcare, transport, and an income.

The Mezcal Guerrero is described as full-bodied with notes of herbs and is made from a rare kind of agave called papalote, which grows natively in the mountains of Guerrero. The second offering, Mezcal Durango, is a medium-bodied mezcal that is made from Cenizo agave found in northern Mexico. The bottles themselves are a work of art. The fermentation length, temperature and yeast affect the development of flavor compounds or congeners that produce a specific tequila style. Some producers add piña fibers called bagasse to the fermentation vessel to enhance the complexity of the spirit. Regulations demand that tequila be double-distilled in pot stills, or produced with a continuous still that has at least two columns. This blue agave juice may make a 100 percent agave spirit, or the producer may add up to 49 percent non-agave sugars, such as sugar cane or corn sugars, to make a “mixto” or “regular” tequila. It’s also one you don’t really need ice for. You’ll never experience the cliche tequila burn when drinking Clase Azul, which means neat is the way forward when enjoying it. While you could make the most of mixers when drinking tequila, you’re in danger of masking the bottle’s unique flavors when doing so. At Premium Tequila, there’s something special about every tequila we carry. That’s because our customers deserve the best, something special… something decadent… something spectacular… and Clase Azul Anejo is all of those things and more. Clase Azul is one of the most unique tequila producers in Mexico. They distinguish themselves from other brands by creating world-class tequilas housed in unique decanters featuring artistry inspired by the indigenous people of Mexico. Clase Azul – The producer of Clase Azul AñejoUnlike many other tequila brands, it was its reposado –– not blanco –– tequila that made Clase Azul a household name. Reposados are known for their rich flavor and higher price tags thanks to months of barrel aging. To be known first for this style of tequila speaks volumes as to why Clase Azul is an ultra-premium spirit. You can choose from a line of eight bottles. Pair with seafood and fish that has a high-fat content like tuna, salmon, octopus, lobster, shrimp, mussels, and clams, which you can cook with butter and yellow lemon (avoid limes). To make this delicious drink, simply muddle the agave nectar with the orange peel along with the bitters. Next, add your Clase Azul Anejo tequila into a glass with ice. Add a brandied cherry for a garnish, and you’re all set! Before dusk, there is a delightful moment when darkness embraces the light. This precious moment inspired this combination of spirits, pouring into a shimmering glass decanter fused to a night-coloured ceramic base. From the painted vessels to the liquid inside, it’s easy to see how Clase Azul embodies Mexican tradition. Even its name, which translates to “blue class,” is a celebratory reference to the shades of blue found throughout the land of Mexico. But Clase Azul was developed to be more than just another tequila. Made by founder and tequilero Arturo Lomeli, Clase was crafted to embody Mexican luxury. The magic of Clase Azul is not limited to the quality of its tequila. Its beautiful ceramic decanters are moulded and decorated entirely by hand by a small community of Mazahua Indians, making each decanter truly unique. The aftertaste gives off an intense flavour of the American oak casks in which it was stored. Clase Azul Añejo Appearance
