About this deal

This seems to be he only automation device that can be used with a CFL bulbs (2 x 9W). Is there a PIR that will control them - or if I was feeling mad could I connect a PIR to turn on this dawn till dusk sensor which would then control the lights? Most timer plugs can be set for a range of times so you can, for example, turn lamps on and off twice a day. Some plug in timers also feature a countdown timer which is handy when you want something to turn off after a certain amount of time. This feature is great for charging appliances and devices. I want to use this unit to switch four LED driveway lights, total combined load is about 8W, but have heard that some units don`t work with such low loads. Do you think that it will work okay in this application? I need to have three outside lights switched via this unit. The bulbs that will be used are Phillips E27 ES 60watt each.

Are the fixing screws captive? As there are four of them it could be easy to loose some when adjusting the rotary switches. Thanks for using our question and answer service, a member of our team will look into your question shortly. The last thing worth mentioning here is that some timer switches have LED lights whose brightness changes as there’s less and less remaining time. Obviously, this gives the homeowner a convenient visual cue as to how much longer will the bathroom exhaust fan be in operation. For more information, read our post on the Best Bathroom Exhaust Fans With LED Lights. Neutral WireAs long as you can maintain a good seal around the cables coming into the unit you will not have an issue. If you cannot make a good seal water will drop onto the electronics. The unit won`t care what way up it is. Technical details: Switching level adjustable between approx: 5-300 lux 10Amp resistive load (2400 watts mains incandescent) 3Amp inductive load (720 watts loading for low voltage, discharge or fluorescent). Will this unit operate if mounted upside down? i noticed there is an up arrow on this, however the cables I hav would be entering from the topside so i would have it mounted upside down. A timer switch of this type will have a look that’s very similar to that of the knob you’d find on a standard toaster oven. Push-Button Timer Switches

Unlike the timer switch described above – Woods 59008 – this model has 7 buttons instead of just one. Besides the large on/off button, it has six additional buttons for each of the preset countdown options. These are 1, 5, 10, 20, 30, and 60 minutes. We have not had any reports of your issue, but we do not know your installation and we are placed in a difficult situation when asked to comment on suitability when the issue might be caused by issues other than your existing timer. I wasn't able to figure out how to get it to accept a status inquiry message and set the countdown in a single message (if you can point me to some documentation on creating dashboard nodes I'd really appreciate it), but in those cases there would be a conflict with the payload anyway. All of this is controlled via a single button, which is situated right below the countdown time options. This kind of one-touch convenience is always a big plus in my book. You could use this in conjunction with a PIR sensor. The power goes through daylight sensor to the PIR. If you lights are going to be switched off and on frequently we`d suggest you use Philips professional CFL lamps for an extended lamp life.

Part L of the Building regulations is changing and outdoor lighting needs to meet new standards namely... 100w per fitting is the maximum permissible and these must be automatically controlled i.e. with a dusk to dawn sensor or used with a proximity or PIR detector. On top of that, the LED indicator lights usually provide a bit of illumination, making it easy to choose the desired setting even in pitch darkness. Not something you would typically use to wire this type of sensor. Really it depends on the diameter of the SWA but we tend to suggest no, use a more appropriate flex. Cancel an active timer. This resets the duration to the last known initial value without firing the timer.finished event. You can also use entity_id: all and all active timers will be canceled. Service data attribute There are also modes for turning things on or off on specific days, multiple days of the week or your own chosen pattern. What I really like about this plug-in timer is the random mode though. If you’re off on holiday, simply plug in a light and it will turn on and off randomly to confuse any would-be burglars.Timers for both internal and external lights known as a lighting timer are ideal when used for home safety or business safety purposes as a deterrent to potential opportunists or burglars. You can programme your timer to switch the lights 'on' and 'off' at a certain hour of the day, giving you complete control and making it look as if you are at home or in the building. Does this product replace that sensor or do I put it between the sensor and the lights. It would replace your existing sensor The push-button delay-off timer, on the other hand, usually consists of 5 to 7 square-shaped buttons. There is usually one big on/off button and several smaller ones with which you can choose your desired countdown time option.
