Description

Carbon monoxide is a highly poisonous gas, caused by fuel not burning properly. It cannot be seen, smelt or tasted by the human senses and is only detectable through a CO alarm. Known as the ‘ Silent Killer’, CO occurs when fuels burn incompletely, with common sources being boilers, gas fires and hobs and solid fuel burners. However, carbon monoxide can also pass through walls, so you would also be at risk if a neighbouring property had a leak. Once your CO alarm is activated and tested, choose to install the alarm by mounting on a wall or free standing on a shelf. Your alarm should be placed 1-3 metres away from any fuel burning appliance in your home, in living rooms or bedrooms. If your FireAngel CO alarm is fully activating, and you can hear 4 loud beeps, immediately open any doors or windows in your home, stop using any appliances, switch them off and evacuate the building taking the CO alarm with you. Our FA3322X4 Carbon Monoxide Alarm with digital display comes with a sealed, tamper proof battery that will last the lifetime of the alarm. The sensors within the unit will deteriorate after 10 years, so to ensure you’re protected we recommend you replace the unit after this time.

Do not install CO alarms within 3 metres of doors or windows, above radiators, or immediately close to anything that gives off steam or fumes like a cooker or shower room. Similarly, it is not recommended to install detectors in dusty areas such as workshops or garages. With the alarm memory function, the red LED will flash to provide a visual indication of a previous CO alarm activation. The FA3313X4 is the ideal replacement for end-of-life FireAngel CO-9B alarms, featuring the highest level of CO detection for your home. With intelligent CO sensing technology and built-in features including Sleep Easy function and Alarm Memory, this alarm will keep your family protected from carbon monoxide. Tenants, do you know your rights as a renter when it comes to CO alarms in your home? The Government announced its response to a consultation on the use of smoke and carbon monoxide alarms in domestic properties. Under the extended Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (England) Regulations 2015, from October 1st 2022, a carbon monoxide alarm will be required in all rooms where there is a fixed combustion appliance – such as gas boilers or gas fires – once the compliance date is announced. However, gas cookers are excluded from the updated regulation. However, if your CO alarm is beeping, flashing red or not responding during a test, follow our troubleshooting guide to decipher the cause. This guide applies to FireAngel FA3313 and FA3820 alarms. Why is my FireAngel CO alarm going off? If you have had your FireAngel carbon monoxide alarm for a few years but it is still within warranty, and the isolation pin has been removed, please get in touch with our Customer Support team. If it is not within warranty, please replace your alarm as soon as possible. Why is my FireAngel CO alarm beeping?

Once removed, wait for at least 1 minute for alarm to initiate. If the alarm now sounds once test button is pressed your alarm is working correctly. If it still does not sound, please get in touch with our Customer Support team. If your CO alarm is beeping once, twice or three times regularly, you may need to replace your alarm batteries, or you could be experiencing exposure to low levels of CO. The guide below will help to identify the cause of beeping. To activate your CO alarm, pull the disabling tab out of the alarm and wait up to 1 minute for the green LED to flash to confirm the alarm is active. After 1 minute, press the test button to hear the alarm sound. Please note, the alarm will not sound before the 1 minute activation period is complete. CO alarms and rental properties The FA6813-EU offers electrochemical sensing technology and a clear loud alarm to ensure trusted carbon monoxide (CO) detection for your home. This alarm also features our new Crescendo Test, which helps to protect your hearing by allowing you to choose the volume level of the test alarm. Simply hold down the test button and the alarm will move through the increasing volume levels (similar to a rising ‘crescendo’) until you find the alert sound level you are comfortable with. Once your CO alarm is activated, this icon or ‘heartbeat’ will continue to flash a green LED in power mode. If a battery fault or warning has been silenced for a period of 8 hours and times out during night time, the silence period will automatically be extended once for a further 8 hours (night silence will increase the counter by 1 for sleep easy). Please note, this feature is not available with the FA3820 or FA3313 alarms. Understanding FA3322 digital display indicators

Looking for a CO-9D alarm replacement? FireAngel’s new FA3322X4 alarm will be replacing any end-of-life CO-9D alarms. The 7 year sealed battery powered FireAngel CO-9X carbon monoxide alarm features clear LED indicators for power, fault or alarm status and a large test/reset button for ease of testing the device. The CO detector can be wall mounted for home use, or can be left free standing, making it a suitable portable detector to take on holiday. With low level CO monitoring, a pre-alarm warning to open windows helps reduce the risk of CO poisoning and prevents build-up of dangerous CO levels. If a room is not ventilated and ppm levels continue to increase, the alarm will activate. With our sleep easy function, you can silence low battery chirps for 8 hours, up to 10 times. This feature not only allows you to enjoy a silent night’s sleep, but gives you vital time to take action and replace your batteries.Near an appliance: they should be placed within 1 to 3 metres horizontally from the appliance and between the height of the appliance to 150mm below the ceiling – i.e., not above a stove where it would be in the path of steam or fumes. The alarm’s high sensitivity mode will be enabled if the alarm predicts CO levels will increase to or above 180ppm for fast reaction to rising CO levels.
