Description

Metric/imperial units can now be freely switched via the INI file. The new default behaviour is to use the user’s OS setting to determine whether to use metric or imperial, but the choice can also be overridden via the INI file. Driver’s hands and the steering wheel can now be toggled on/off via the INI file independently. This feature might be useful for specific steering wheel setups to avoid a “duplicate steering wheel”.

Just like the original, the game is characterized by a very high level of realism. The physics of driving takes into account a number of factors, including speed, grip and overloading. The basic parameters of cars can be modified to different degrees, adjusting them to your preferences. The system of vehicle damage has also improved significantly. Perry, Douglass C. It is hugely important to me, our teams, drivers and fans that any new BTCC game reflected exactly what everyone loves about our championship: the incredibly close non-stop action, intense competition and great enjoyment. I’ve no doubt that Motorsport Games will deliver exactly that.” a b OPMUK staff (Christmas 1997). "TOCA Touring Car Championship". Official UK PlayStation Magazine. No.27. Once the installation is complete, you can now launch the game using the game’s shortcut on your desktop. In-car rearview mirror resolution can now be changed via the INI file, up to 512x256. Do note that higher resolutions might make the game slow if dgVoodoo isn’t used. While most of the fixes I’ve done for TOCA 2 are ordinary and not worth covering, the single most severe compatibility issue the game had is unique, and I think The game now handles all arbitrary aspect ratios without the need for hex editing. Both the 3D elements and UI have been fully fixed for widescreen. IGN staff (29 January 1999). "IGNPC's Best of 1998 Awards". IGN. Ziff Davis. Archived from the original on 27 April 1999 . Retrieved 28 August 2021.TOCA 2: Touring Cars (TOCA 2: Touring Car Challenge in North America) is a British racing video game developed and published by Codemasters for PlayStation and Microsoft Windows. TOCA 2 is notable for being one of only four PlayStation games (the others being Wipeout 3: Special Edition, Ridge Racer Type 4 and Andretti Racing) to feature a four-player mode using the PlayStation's link cable and split-screen at the same time - i.e., four players compete against each other simultaneously using two PlayStation consoles, with two players per console and connected to two televisions. The center interior camera now uses a full range of steering animations and gear shifting animations, just like the main interior camera. This feature can be toggled via the INI file. a b c Kornifex (2 February 2001). "Test: TOCA Touring Car Championship (GB)". Jeuxvideo.com (in French). Webedia. In-car rearview mirrors now can be forced to show regardless of the HUD settings. This feature can be toggled via the INI file. HUD scaling has been made more consistent on high resolutions, so the UI now looks identical regardless of resolution. TOCA 2 for Windows also has the ability to import skins for each car. They can be edited using any paint/drawing program. GameSpot staff (11 November 1999). "Touring Car Races to Stores [date mislabeled as "April 27, 2000"]". GameSpot. CBS Interactive.
