About this deal

The essential oil coming from the second most common type of chamomile, the Roman Chamomile. It also contains the biologically active anti-inflammatory components, bisabolol, and chamazulene, but less than the more commonly used German Chamomile. A probiotic ingredient that might protect the skin against environmental aggressors, have anti-acne and anti-inflammatory properties. Also works as a natural preservative.

This is the story of a Korean cosmetic product… Initially known to be a dupe of Estée Lauder ANR serum (yes, another one!), it gradually became a cult K-Beauty product. Today, I’m introducing you to the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule serum (which has changed quite a bit over the years!). The oil-soluble extract coming from the edible, orange part of the carrot. It is created bymacerating the carrot root in a carrier oil such as sunflower or olive oil, and the resulting thing (base oil + carrot root extract) is often called carrot oil or carrot root oil. (Not to be confused with carrot seed oil, that can be fixed or essential and comes from the seeds.) ENG: Hi guys, I am Sugarpeaches, a German beauty and lifestyle blogger with a special passion for Korean and Asian skincare. You can use the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule in the morning and evening (despite what the name suggests), but at the moment I use it more in the evening.

The skincare claims are also quite similar to the ANR ones, with a Missha Probio serum that is supposed to be effective on:

It's an alternative, natural preservative that comes fromradishes fermented withLeuconostoc kimchii, a lactic acid bacteria that has been used to make traditional Korean dish, kimchi. During the fermentation process, a peptide issecreted from the bacteria that has significant antimicrobial properties. I started using the Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Probio Ampoule serum about 2 months ago, after finishing the ma:nyo Bifida Complex Ampoule, and after I tested Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair a few months earlier. I wanted to compare all of these products and share my experience with you.

Our intro did get pretty big after all (sorry for that), so let's get to the point finally: sunflower oil - similar to other plant oils - is a great emollient that makes the skin smooth and nice and helps to keep it hydrated. It also protects the surface of the skin and enhances the damaged or irritated skin barrier. Leslie Bauman notes in Cosmetic Dermatology that one application of sunflower oil significantly speeds up the recovery of the skin barrier within an hour and sustains the results 5 hours after using it. Often compared to the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair, this serum has developed a cult following due to its ability to repair and hydrate the skin. P.S. If you’re new to it, retinol can irritate and dry out your skin. Use it a couple of times a week to begin with and increase frequency overtime.I’m not sure I’ll see it anyway, because I don’t think I’m going to keep using it on my face. I still have half of the bottle left, but I’ll probably finish it on my decolleté (lol, that’s what I do with my “meh” products; my decolleté routine is quite sophisticated 😉). To me, Missha remains one of the most underrated large name K-brands in the West – I once heard a (non-Korean) influencer in their 20s dismissively call them an “ajumma brand” ( ajumma being the Korean name for “older woman” or “married woman”), meaning it’s for boring old women and not fun young guys advertising on YouTube, I guess?! See, this is one of those things I find problematic about the skincare community as a whole, the way we dismiss Korean skincare products aimed at women aged 30+ or even, gasp, 40+. I guess it’s because mostly younger influencers are famous for promoting skincare right now? Missha is a great brand, not just for “ajummas” like me, I promise, and their Time Revolution Night Repair Ampoule 5X has stood the test of time for very good reasons! That means it’s extremely hydrating, and a great help in keeping skin softer and plumper. Oh, and it works well both in high and low humidity conditions. You could live in the middle of Siberia or the Sarah, and it’d still do wonders for your skin. We have to start by writing how fascinated we are by the amazing lavender fields of Provance and we do love pretty much everything about lavender: its look, its color, its scent.... but, when it comes to skincare, lavender is aquestionable ingredient that you probably do not want in your skincare products.
