About this deal

I use the hollow white plastic pushing tube from on of them to hold my measuring spoons in a deep drawer. The measurement markings are in the standard format (no milliliters here) and are handwritten on the handles. Most measuring spoons have circular ends, but some are rectangular to scoop out spices from spice jars. These are actually designed by Sophie Conran, a designer, cook, and author, who also happens to be the daughter of well-known British designer Terence Conran.

What a difference it would have made if the cinnamon were measured first and the vanilla afterward, instead of vice versa. If you sometimes want a round spoon, sometimes an oval one, and all the time want your spoons to easily nest together, then this is the set for you. Who it’s for: People who want a measuring spoon set that will last a lifetime and won’t tip over when placed on the counter. And now you need a teaspoon of cinnamon — which means a break in the action as you go to the sink to wash the vanilla off your spoon, carefully drying it afterward so the cinnamon doesn’t cling.

All the spoons are held together with a detachable ring, which is particularly helpful if you tend to lose your utensils in a busy drawer. After all, there’s more to measuring spoons than simply using them to scoop little bits of ingredients into your mixing bowl. Silicone: Silicone measuring spoons are best suited for sticky ingredients because of the nonstick nature of silicone. The spoons have holes in their handles so you can attach a loop or lanyard, and can easily be washed in the dishwasher. The standard sizes for measuring spoons are 1/8 teaspoon, 1/4 teaspoon, 1/2 teaspoon, 3/4 teaspoon, 1 teaspoon, 1/2 tablespoon, and 1 tablespoon.

Use the straight edge of one of your other spoons, or the trimmed inner lining of your ingredient jar; either works fine. This set will soon become your go-to, and its stylish and timeless design will make cooking and baking even more enjoyable. Most professionals agree that weighing ingredients, albeit although a little more time consuming, is a more accurate method than using volume measurements. They can live up to professional use, and you can clean them in the dishwasher; this is particularly handy because their square shape may mean that some food could get stuck in their corners easier than with round-headed measuring spoons. The measurement markings are embossed on each spoon in both standard and metric markings, which helps if you’re going off of international recipes. Then, with the spoon over the opening or the sink, level the top evenly with a knife and check for any air pockets. A set of six measuring spoons usually includes ⅛ teaspoon, ¼ teaspoon, ½ teaspoon, 1 teaspoon, ½ tablespoon, and 1 tablespoon sizes. For dry ingredients, use the spoon to scoop your ingredient out of the jar or bag, making sure the spoon is slightly overfilled. All that said, they do darling and if you'll be taking photos of your bakes afterward, they'll fit right in.
