I've never read a book based off of a movie or television series before, but I'm glad I did in this case. Just about the only reason to read this book is for details about what happened between Derek and Kate.At first I was really enjoying them because I thought it gave a nice look into his past, something we haven't been able to see in the show thus far. We got a look at every character we had met up until the point it takes place in the show in the novel. Because if there were a set of traditions and rituals for the various moons, Derek would absolutely instigate those things the moment he became an Alpha and started his own pack.
