Thank you! That's a point I've been trying to get across for years. A taste is just a taste – nothing more. If you just happen to like a wholly vegetarian product that happens to taste like meat then so what? Some of the more idiotic of the militant extremists will try to tell you you're a bad vegetarian for merely liking a meat-like taste. Grilling is a great way to cook your Quorn sausages. You can then eat them as they are, or add them to other dishes such as pasta bakes or casseroles.

Grilling the frankfurters will give them a slightly firmer texture on the outside than if you boil them; this is a good option for those who like the texture of meat.I've often thought this (well not quite this as I didn't compare it to porn), but why don't veggies (people) just eat veggies (vegetables) instead of hankering for sausages and bacon and buying the faux versions of these foodstuffs? I compare it to vaping instead of smoking. Just give it up if you don't want to do it! Never have a bacon butty again! Don't pretend that veggie bacon is anything like it. It isn't. It tastes good to some of us and it's a source of low fat protein. Veggie people are no more obliged to eat it than anyone. I also make veggie meals that don't have substitute meat in them. There is no 'resorting' involved. People can become vegetarians for different reasons, not always ethical ones. But if you're ethically opposed to eating meat because of animals being killed/other environmental reasons, but you still like the taste, what's wrong with eating something that resembles it? Pork can be an unhealthy meat because the pigs that provide them are often routinely injected with antibiotics to keep them healthy. Both types of sausage are filled with protein and fibre, which makes them a good choice to include in your diet.

Quorn sausages are generally made with Mycoprotein, which is derived from mushrooms, so anyone with an allergy or intolerance of mushrooms should aoid this type of sausage. To be fair, though, the veggies (people) of my acquaintance do make absolutely fantastic meals without resorting to meat substitutes, it's people like me who use Quorn and the like when catering for said veggies (people).Quorn sausages’ production can involve the sourcing of many different types of ingredient, which can add to their carbon footprint. As you can see, cooking with Quorn is not all that daunting. You can pretty much treat them like their meaty counterparts. Makes you wonder what else vegetarians get up to when they think no one's looking... Perhaps the police should compile a register? Alternatively you can search our food database to find calories in over 60,000 foods and calculate the calories in your serving. Try it Free Fry's Burger Pork sausages can be higher in fat, which makes them less suitable for those who are trying to lose weight.
