Description

It seems that MercatorGear is only into small size backpacker canisters, I am interested in the heavy duty Campingaz R901/R904/R907 canisters. The 132g MicronTrail Stove with Duo connector, model P321456, was advertised as weighing 132g, however my example weighs 127g.

That said I continue to use adapters, but only where I am deliberately incorporating a different type of gas canister into my cookset from the outset. Identical to screw-on canister except without the thread on the valve (meaning they’re incompatible with each other).

I have an Ozark Trail two burner camp stove which I bought from Walmart in 2016 when travelling in America. So a stove that used the camping gas method to attach to either kind of can woukd be superior due no brass threads to wear out and flexibility.

I have had no experience of Campingaz stoves in the past forty years as they are a bit clunky, heavy and bulky. I believe I will have to scrap that portion of my setup and purchase a new burner that takes a more readily available canister. If it burns better after you’ve done those things, even if only briefly, then it’s probably the cold. Otherwise, consider this a “thank you” note, and I hope you and your readers continue to have safe travels. If so, your best bet will be a stove that burns petrol instead, because you can get that every time you fill up your bike.Just a handful of manufacturers have produced lightweight stoves that will attach to a small variety of canisters. Alternatively there are adapters that will enable a ‘standard’ backpacking stove with a lindal connector to be used with these canisters. They are an old and very simple design that just isn’t compatible with the more modern (and safer) alternatives. The lightest that Three Points of the Compass has found is one of the Micron Duo stoves introduced by Primus in 2019.
