For maximum output on dry roads I did find using both LEDs wasn't quite as good as using a powerful light with just white LEDs, as the mix of the white and yellow just takes the edge off the sharpness of the beam, but it's a small price to pay for use in rubbish weather. There is also a remote button that plugs into the USB port on the underside of the light and mounts to the bar to give an alternative to using the button on the light.

The remote button plugs in underneath and is attached with a Velcro strap. Its lead is 35cm long, which is more than enough for a road bike and should be sufficient for most mountain bike bars too. However, I did find that even when done up as tight as possible the button would slide around the bar, the small rubber pad not enough to keep it in place. I fixed this by using a cable tie in place of the strap. Battery life is good, and I often achieved in excess of all of the claimed burn times I tested by around 10%. You can follow progress of how much juice you have left by way of the matrix display, which also tells you what mode you are in. There is an auto mode, which turns the light on and off in whichever of the light's seven settings you choose, depending on how dark/bright the conditions. Some will appreciate this (George found it 'interesting' when he reviewed the slightly lower power non-Pro Moon Meteor-X Auto), but I'm pretty indifferent to it. I'm sure there's an application for it, I just never found it. With a water resistance rating of IPX4, the Moon should shrug off water spray from any angle and it does just that, with loads of muddy testing on gravel bikes and heavy rain on the road, and, just to be sure, it's been given the power shower treatment too. Thanks to well-covered charge points and electronics there are no issues to report.Similarly priced lights such as the Cateye AMPP 800 are shy on output compared to the Moon, and with the latter you are also getting longer burn times with an extra 500 lumens. The Cateye is a good light, though, with a slightly nicer beam pattern; I used the 1000-lumen version alongside the Moon and the review will be up soon. About one in every thousand newly discovered meteorites is a lunar meteorite, [11] whereas the vast majority of meteorites are from the asteroid belt. In the early 19th century most scientists believed that all meteorites falling towards the Earth were from the Moon. Although today supported only by a minority of researchers, there are also theories that tektites are from the Moon and should therefore also be regarded as lunar meteorites. However, most scientists regard such theories as outdated. These qualities also mean it lends itself to best bikes used during the drier, salt-free spells typical of late autumn/early winter. The sort that requires a flashing mode or two and some proper navigational punch to get you the remaining 5-10 miles home by. Verdict Emma’s first encounters with a road bike were in between swimming and running. Soon after competing for GB in the World Age Group Triathlon Championships in Edmonton in 2001 she saw the light and decided to focus on cycling. Moon has judged the length of the cable well – it reaches from the hoods to the light while following the contours of the bar, so it'll sit nicely under the bar tape. Modes

Bibcode: 2002Icar..160..183A. doi: 10.1006/icar.2002.6957. S2CID 8939024. The awkward button is unfortunate, as it controls so many things with various durations of a press (both while on or off). Take the time learn these routines and familiarise yourself with the light indicators, though, and you really start to enjoy what it can offer. Charging

Previous headlights include a Exposure Strada (broke) and a Raveman 1200 (lens fell off in middle of nowhere). The only criticism of the moon is the round light pattern; Strada, Raveman and my B&M IQ are all better in this, but then most people use round beams. As such this one is a good spread. Battery life is good, ranging from a claimed 2 hours on the solid beam of 320 lumens through to 57 hours on daytime flash. There were so many variations that trying to work out if each was accurate was nigh-on impossible, but I tested the full 320 lumen mode and it lasted around 2 hours 15 minutes before it died, which is pretty good. This unit's run times all matched the claims, even in the recent cold weather. At three hours on the 700 lumen setting, you can get in some decent miles after work, though the 1000 lumens might be needed in darker lanes. MIDAS was able to confirm the flash and its precise location on the moon from each of the three observatories, Madiedo said, adding that he has tried to capture this rare phenomenon for years without any success. There are seven different settings, in manual or auto mode: three solid beams with different brightnesses, three different flashes and an SOS sequence. This gives a lot of variety, even if you may struggle to find the one you want. Although it's great to have a choice of settings, here the number of different button presses to operate them is a little frustrating. For instance, holding it down for three seconds turns it from auto to manual (or vice versa); you then have the option of flashing or solid modes, which you choose by giving the button two presses, and you then cycle through the various brightness or flash settings. The Moon Meteor C3 is a compact, eight-mode front light capable of delivering 300 lumens in constant and an equally impressive 400-lumen daylight flash. Build quality is superb throughout. The diminutive dimensions, comprehensive mounting options and generally usable run-times ensure it can play a wealth of roles, from a single commuter/contingency light to powerful main system support act.

Run-times were spot on as advertised, and pretty good too for the size of the light. Running boost mode permanently will kill the battery in an hour, but the modes I used the most, 600-lumen steady and day flash, gave 2 hours and up to 65 hours respectively, more than enough for the riding I do at this time of year. With mixed use I got three days or so from the light before it needed a charge, with that handy LED panel showing the battery level in 20% increments. It's the same price as the Ravemen CR1000 which comes with lower overall output and shorter battery life in like-for-like modes. And while you also get a remote control, there's no helmet mount. The astronomer hopes that the new crater made by the meteoroid’s impact will be imaged by NASA’s Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter or India’s Chandrayaan 2 lunar probe. The battery level can be seen by the LEDs that shine through the button, which also showed whether the light was in automatic mode (green), manual (blue), or running low on power (red). In the day flash setting you'll get 45hrs out of the light. That's easily enough for all the riding I can do for nearly a month. It's perfect for training rides when the sun never really comes up.
