And from now until January 15, children and adults alike can expect laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery and beautiful costumes as May stars as the Fairy Godmother in Cinderella – clocking up a record-breaking 32 Grand Opera House pantomime seasons. Famous funnyman Jimmy Cricket is again appearing alongside several fellow comedians in the popular You Must Be Joking show. Mrs Cameron [Olivia Nash] is the perfect comedy companion to May’s antics in this fun filled night out. The three-week series of shows featuring Jimmy and three fellow Northern Ireland comedians ended at the Island Arts Centre on Lagan Valley Island in Lisburn. The appeal is obvious - May McFettridge brings a hilariously Northern Irish twist to whatever magical fairytale she's in.

Not just me being out of work, but the people who'd booked for pantomime, the kids who'd been excited for it, even my own grandkids who love it every year - it was just a big let down for everybody. There was a great buzz of excitement about the theatre and young and old joined in the singing of the popular Disney songs Heigh Ho and Whistle While You Work. Playing her 33rd Grand Opera House panto, May, aka John Linehan, didn’t disappoint in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. Then I have my own circus, McFetty's Circus, and my animals are free to roam and they're all good and great. Linehan has, in character, been a long-running feature on local radio and television, as well as a regular pantomime dame. This was a very professional performance from start to finish with perfect casting of the main characters.

I thought I'd lost an eye because I couldn't see out, but it was just badly injured - my nose had dropped a bit but they managed to get it back up again.

She wants to make contact with her dead sister to fulfil a promise made years ago on the top of the Cave Hill.

XS Noize looks back on this momentous release from a band that would become the ‘Fab Five’ of the ‘80s.Chance our arm and look for that encore career that is within us, that will if unleashed enable us to be the best we could be, whilst we outlive our days in this world. Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a visit to pantoland and a serving of one-liners from panto Queen May McFettridge.

I don't mind growing old - it's a thing that I've never had to deal with and I look forward every day to dealing with it. Depeche Mode delivered an electrifying performance in Birmingham on January 24th, showcasing their musical prowess in a spectacular manner. With reserved seating, delectable drinks, sweet treats and even toys on offer, booking a Grand Opera House festive box package will feel like Santa’s come early. Northern Ireland’s largest pantomime is back for another magical year at the Grand Opera House, Belfast with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It is almost 40 years since May McFettridge burst onto Ulster’s entertainment scene, a gap-toothed, pop-sock wearing wee woman from north Belfast, with trowelled on make-up, racy innuendoes and pure ‘Norn Iron’ wit.
