S. hits respectively – Whilst some were big hits on both sides of the Atlantic, we shine a spotlight on huge hits from America at the time, that have gone on to be as legendary in the UK as they were in the US. Deniece Williams ‘Lets Hear It For The Boy’ from ‘Footloose’, and the aptly titled ‘(I’ve had) The Time Of My Life from ‘Dirty Dancing’. Two years later we made the move to our present address, 35 The Headrow, where we have remained ever since. Drawing the collection to a close is the aptly titled ‘America’, which gave Neil Diamond his third Top 10 single in the US from the soundtrack of his film ‘The Jazz Singer’.

Pure party fun tracks including ‘Can Can’, ‘The Birdie Song’ and ‘Star Trekkin’ lead the way to a trio of iconic 80’s movie themes… ‘Ghostbusters’ from Ray Parker Jr. The prevalence of the synth in the 1980s gave rise to new and exciting sounds and to tracks that were created with fusions of genres. All 32 tracks are present and correct, except for INXS’ ‘Mystify’, which hasn’t been included due to licensing restrictions. One of her signature tracks ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody (Who Loves Me)’ serves as a stellar example of how Dance music had evolved through the decade and remained as vital and uplifting as ever.Products labelled '*item fulfilled by Exertis on behalf of hmv' will be supplied to you directly by Exertis via their approved couriers. O.S Band with ‘Just Be Good To Me’ and also included here are hugely influential Electro-Pop gems from Freeez, Rockers Revenge feat.

This volume, featuring 29 tracks across 2-LPs, pressed on 1 Purple and 1 Pink vinyl, presents the best in DISCO and ELECTRO. The term Various Artists is used in the record industry when numerous singers and musicians collaborate on a song or collection of songs. The era saw some of the genres’ biggest hits including this collections’ opener ‘Flashdance…What A Feeling’ from Irene Cara – this theme from the film ‘Flashdance’ was not only a massive selling single, but the song also won multiple awards including an Academy Award. We include synth-pop from Arcadia, Howard Jones, and Peter Schilling with ‘Major Tom (Coming Home)’, which was recently rediscovered as the opening theme to ‘Deutschland 83, 86 and 89’.The superb synth-pop of ‘Love Kills’ from Freddie Mercury opens the album, followed by the special dance mix of Eurythmics’ ‘There Must Be An Angel (Playing With My Heart)’. We carry a broad range of CDs and vinyl (7”/12” singles and LPs) and specialise in indie, alternative, rock, punk, metal plus a few other genres. I don't find that it detracts from enjoying the CD particularly if you were a teenager during the 80's as it really takes you back.
