Agatha’s minifigure has detailed printing across her torso and skirt piece, with the fabric detail extending quite seamlessly. She comes with a purple fabric cape, and two trans-purple power blasts Next up we have Echo, aka Maya Lopez, who featured in Hawkeye and will also have her own series on Disney+ in November 2023. Echo is one of the most impressive minifigures in this series with incredible detailing across her entire body. Moon Knight comes with two accessories, a pair of Scarabs and his signature Crescent Blades, but pay special attention to the arm and leg printing which looks gorgeous, with sharp lines and detail across every minifigure surface that LEGO can print on.

Beast looks fantastic rendered in blue, with plenty of fur detailing across his body and a primary face featuring Hank’s thoughtful face with glasses on. Marvel Minifigures Series 2 will release on 1 September (October in ANZ), and will feature 12 all-new characters inspired by Marvel Studios TV shows, from Hawkeye to She-Hulk to Moon Knight and the upcoming X-Men 97 series. Don’t get me wrong, this is a great Wolverine minifigure, probably the best one that LEGO has ever produced. But with Wolverine recently making an appearance in a Mech Armour, it feels a bit like a wasted slot in a 12-character series, where more obscure characters that might not have the opportunity to show up in regular sets should have been given the time to shine. Now that it’s out of the way, this is a pretty decent licensed Minifigures Series, with some questionable choices with the lineup of characters. It’s always a difficult balancing game when the IP holder, in this case, Marvel usually dictates what characters get included, and when many of the planned 2023 releases have been delayed like What If.. and Agatha: Coven of Chaos, it does mean that you’re left with some characters that feel out of place.

Next, we have the long-awaited re-release of She-Hulk minifigure, based on her Disney+ series version where Tatiana Maslany plays the Hulk’s lawyer cousin, Jen Walters. Agatha is a great minifigure, and fans of Wandavision have been waiting a long time to get their hands on her, as she makes for a great companion to Marvel Series 1’s Scarlet Witch. The cape looks great, and so is her brand new wig, which has her hair styled up as a mohawk, which looks fantastic and contrasts very nicely against her darker complexion. First up we have Agatha Harkness, the primary antagonist of Wandavision and also the upcoming Agatha: Coven of Chaos series which will premiere on Disney+ sometime in 2024.

Oh and each minifigure comes with these stands and stalks that allow you to pose the minifgiures in dramatic and dynamic styles. What do you think of the LEGO Marvel Series 2? Will you be getting an entire set/box or hoping you get the minifigures you want by buying random boxes? One of the Diseny+ projects I’m personally most excited about is X-Men ’97, a sequel series to the animated show that ran from 1992-1996. And my absolute favorite minifigures in this series are the three hailing from that show. Starting with Storm, aka Ororo Munroe, the weather controlling mutant and sometimes leader of the X-Men. Storm appears in her Jim Lee designed white costume. Other than the X-Symbols and the yellow striping, this look doesn’t require a lot of printing but, like Mr. Knight, the legs do contain some minor lines. The costume is topped off perfectly with pointed shoulder pads and Storm’s trademark cape designed to allow her to ride the wind currents that are under her control. Unmasking Goliath, we have Bill Foster’s face underneath. As What If Season 2 isn’t out yet, it’s really hard to make a connection with Goliath, so I feel fairly detached from this minfigure.Gifts for Marvel fans - These durable LEGO minifigures can be given to kids aged 5+ and adults as an unexpected treat to expand their collections Kang might’ve been cut due to Jonathon Major’s legal troubles and his uncertain future with the MCU, but the character selection is by far the weakest here. Agatha Harkness is a great addition to be displayed with Scarlet Witch from Marvel Series 1. It’s been a long wait, but the minifigure is exactly what you’d like from an Agatha minifigure and as an added bonus, it also doubles up as a great witch minifigure that will come in handy for Halloween. I feel like characters like Hawkeye, Wolverine, Goliath, and maybe even The Werewolf could’ve been far better utilised on more important characters like the Scarlet Scarab, Kang the Conqueror, Loki’s Mobius, Kamala Khan (Ms. Marvel), Vision (from Wandavision), or even someone from Secret Invasion, or an OG X-Men character like Gambit, Rogue or Jubilee.

Highly detailed accessories - Each character is accompanied by at least 1 authentic accessory and a collector’s leaflet I do like the colour scheme and futuristic design, which looks generic enough that you cvould repurpose it quite easily for a sci-fi or space MOC.There are some bright spots, such as the high level of printing quality, and minifigure design which seems to have been elevated, and of course the sensational Moon Knight, which might be one of the finest LEGO minifigures that LEGO have ever made. If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know that my positition on this has been clear, I do not support the switch to pure blind boxes, as it encourages gambling, and the uncertainty of what you will get, something that most people can’t afford to do. LEGO could’ve easily included some hidden code or symbol on each box to identify what’s inside, but their unwillingness to do so just reeks of not listening to longtime fans and punishing Minifigure fans.
